For a world with no magic, the histories, stories, and beliefs of Earth seem to be filled with magic and wonder. Games used to escape the mundane world often house elements that are simply not part of the real world. Magic isn't real. Monsters are not real. Heroes are not real. But, what if this was not the case? What if all the magic and wonder in Earth's myths, stories, and histories were more honest than they are credited with? What if it was all hidden in a world of its own; hidden behind a carefully guarded veil separating magic and myth from those on Earth? And, if that is the case, why were they separated?   These are the questions that lead to the reality of the Hidden World, the place of wonder and magic, and the Veiled World, the mundane and safe place for people to live. Our story follows two young people: Priss Daniels and Terry White. Together they navigate the two worlds, one magic and one mundane, and the problems that continue to bleed across the Veil between them.   Priss Daniels is a Mason, an American practitioner of qi that is tasked with the mission of protected the security of Veil and the secrecy of the Hidden World at any cost. Assigned a mission to observe a potentially dangerous mage she finds herself unable to do what is necessary when the truth is revealed to her. Instead she protects her mage from other Masons without him knowing. Priss must navigate two worlds with two identities: one that will protect the balance of the Veil at any cost and one that already failed that mission for love.   Terry White is a college dropout that could probably have a better life, but is happy with the one he has. He lives in off the meager earnings from his job at a tabletop games shop and the winnings he gets from the Fate's Hand playing card game tournaments he wins. His girlfriend, Priss Daniels, is the spark to his life that makes everything worthwhile. She may have some secrets related to her family's business he can't know about, secrets that make Priss a rather dangerous person when she wants to be, but that’s alright. As long as she is safe. Terry, though, has some secrets too, secrets that he himself is not aware of, but when they reveal themselves he and Priss may find the fate of more than themselves in their hands.
