Booth is a former football player and avid MMO fan whose default problem-solving method is to charge in first and ask questions later. When a world-ending catastrophe kills everyone Booth loves, an experimental mind upload technology saves him. He awakens in a gorgeous epic fantasy game created to showcase the new tech. Despite the game’s prettiness, Booth assumes the turn-based system it uses will be easy and boring. After strolling into the tutorial like he’ll own the place and getting his ass handed to him, Booth realizes he might be in a tighter spot than expected. He’ll need to learn how to fight with both muscles and mind, and he’ll need an adventuring party. If he can pull together a group willing to work hard enough, they might be able to save their new world from tyrant gods who are more real than expected—and get answers about whether their own real world is as dead as they were led to believe.
