Cooler temperatures, dangerous air, magic plants, killer attack squirrels, and a helpful and informative System are all features of the magical apocalypse which strikes Earth. However, twenty-year-old Carter can't decide if it's a good or bad thing. On the one hand, he can now wield powerful magics, grow stronger than he ever believed, and have several boyfriends who support him on whatever it is he decides to do that day and who he can support in their goals. On the other hand, it's a magic apocalypse and whether or not the gods are as benevolent as they seem is uncertain. As long as they keep him out of their games and no one (divine or otherwise) tries to involve him in their own politics, however, Carter's certain he'll be happy. He just needs to clear out those killer attack squirrels, first... Posting Schedule: Mondays through Thursdays (upon return; currently on hiatus). IMPORTANT NOTES: 1) Carter is going to be OP from early on. He's going to end up extremely OP later on, too. This isn't a story of struggling against every monster he battles, it's a story of an OP dude living his life. 2) This story is a mixture of slice-of-life and adventure. You'll get some home-building, some crafting, some experimentation, some learning, and some exploration and adventure. It's a mixture of the two so there might be stretches of chapters that are more focused on one than the other. 3) This isn't a story about drama and interpersonal conflict and politics. If there is any, it won't happen frequently and it won't last very long. It's a story about Carter being OP, learning magic, creating stuff, building a home, and going on adventures. 4) The part of the description that says "a helpful and informative System" means it. The cause of the end and the origins of the System are neither a mystery nor a focus here and it's something normal people are allowed to know so Carter will learn it very fast. Chapter 3-fast. It's just the triggering point for the events of the story, not the focus or a long-lasting mystery. 5) Though Carter will end up in a poly relationship/with a harem of at least three other guys, the amount of sexual content within the story will remain within the amount allowed by RoyalRoad and neither it nor romance will be a main focus of the story.
