70 years ago, in 2030, a sudden wave of energy burst forth from an island in the Pacific Ocean. Not many knew its cause, but its effects would be known soon. After a few weeks of 9 billion humans living their idyllic placid lives, alters, or eulogists as they are formally called started appearing. It was small at first, eulogists mainly appeared in the regions closest to the energy surge, but then they quickly expanded in number. Their supernatural powers of conceptualization and comprehension completely upended the world order. These powers, defined by their names caused nations to rise and fall in mere months from the strange and fantastical powers brought on by these eulogists. War raged on, rapidly dropping the planet's population. Now, a new status quo has arrived, one where these weapons of mass destruction, alters, are persecuted.
