Jaricko’s mother told him to make friends. She said nothing about being stranded in the mountains and fighting fantasy monsters while a blinking moon watches. Jaricko, on a spur-of-the-moment decision, applies to his college’s freshman camping trip. He would rather spend his summer before school huddled in his room, but his family has other plans. They send him off with a duffel bag and a farewell. Unbeknownst to the human race, they’ve been chosen to be the next planet to be integrated into the System. A cosmic entity that ushers in game-like properties to all beings. Jaricko is disturbed from roasting his marshmallows and is forced to fight for his life and others.
