Synopsis
In the mid-21st century, civilisation collapsed. But from its ashes, a new State rose in Eastern Europe. One that was dedicated to not following the mistakes of the past. They follow a blueprint written by a group of people long dead, who chronicled our downfall in a book which has come to be known as 'The Record'. In near-religious devotion to its warnings, they have banned carbon pollution, networked systems and nuclear weapons. But this is no Utopia...
Kommandant Yuriy is an agent in the State Intelligence Directive, a powerful government department dedicated to enforcing draconian political and technological controls. Despite being a model operative, a chance discovery on the flooded shores of the Black Sea throws him into a storm of violent political intrigue. Caught between an authoritarian bureaucracy and deadly political power struggles he will be forced to confront the question: is he being lied to and manipulated by his superiors?
Or worse still, is his future being manipulated by those in a past long-dead?
