A bird is captured and brought to an alchemist’s house where she is experimented on, giving her sentience and speech. When the alchemist is arrested for an unknown crime she is reclaimed by a government on the brink of war, and becomes the pet of the third princess, a social outcast. This is the story of their political machinations. (Or maybe adventures, maybe they avoid the war or maybe they cause it or maybe she runs away to escape the invading army or something. Not sure yet! Perhaps reader input will help me :)
