A collection of stories from the 'Engi no Jutsu' Naruto alternate universe, Engi no Monogatari takes place in a world where chakra-wielding ninja regularly engage in life or death struggles for power and control. Engi no Monogatari tales are all approximately 100 years after the Chuunin Exams in the 'standard' Naruto canon, but diverge significantly from the setting in a multitude of ways, perhaps most notably in that none of the named Naruto characters are present in the world at all! Engi no Monogatari is a 'fanfiction' in the sense that the setting information and 'system' the world operates on is based loosely on Naruto, but many notable Naruto mainstays aren't present as the stories are adapted from years of collaborative effort on a play by post roleplaying forum. There's a large amount of original content and not so much from the source material, so fair warning not to expect anything too familiar in here apart from names and places!
