Synopsis

The world of the verily acclaimed VRMMORPG Odyssey of Adventure was both simple and complicated yet filled with the love of many people; Gillian was one of them: a man whose hands were stained with the blood of countless victims that found peace with himself and his actions through the heroics of his character, more or less like numberless others, yet when Egosoft decided to hold a meeting with him in regards to future content as one of the most important players, the truth of such a reunion went away, as did him. When he was finally able to open his eyes, swirling black holes surrounded by ever-changing nebulae of countless colours, he heard the bell, twisted and ruinous, signalling the start of what might have been a new life or a delusion, one that he didn't know how it was made to be in the first place, but that he decided to enjoy no matter the truth of the matter. And so it is, that the old mage rose from his slumber, and his odyssey finally began, or, perhaps, had started anew after so many years of bloodshed? Notes on a half-burnt parchment floating through space: Chapters will be published monthly, with a variable length that will probably oscillate between "OK, not bad not bad" to "excuse my rudeness, but how many more words are in this? My eyes are melting," depending on inspiration, spirit and muses, not necessarily in that order and mayhaps influenced by the power of anime and videogames. Take into account that all omitted details or slowly-dripped information are intentional; Endless Odyssey not being a mystery per se does not mean there won't be things hidden for you dear readers to try and discover and/or rationalise. Just like the aforementioned point, Endless Odyssey is not a comedy, a horror story or grimdark, but elements from these and many others will of course be present and developed as the story goes on. Prepare thyselves. Endless Odyssey is a LitRPG with a profound and ever-expanding lore and system, yet we are not planning in overwhelming readers with tables, graphs or numbers: everything will be made more organic than simply giving these kinds of information, although there will be enough to satiate the majority of those who do like such things. We tend to edit a lot, so it will be with frequency that we check and recheck chapters, be it to make sure everything is correctly written or to make mistakes vanish on more nebulous areas like lore, character personalities, details and foreshadowing. We will care to inform ye all of these changes so you’re not made to reread every chapter once in a while. (We are not that evil. Yet.) Regarding art, the majority of art pieces are temporal, and we will either make them ourselves —probably with the invaluable power of AI since we’re not the best at drawing anything— or pay someone to make them if things go well, as you can imagine; the idea is to have at least one piece per chapter. We love making references, so keep your eyes peeled because there will be numberless lost throughout the pages, and it always makes us happy to see that they are caught by some hawkeye or sharpshooter of many hobbies and taste trudging along. All of this said, we welcome you to the story if it be that you've decided to adventure into its pages after gazing through all of this. Have a good read, Royal.
