The world is the Sovereign's gift, its prosperity ensured by the Sovereign's emissary: Heaven. Yet times have changed and Heaven has gone aloof from the life of man. The first empire, once acknowledged and protected by Heaven, has fallen apart; leaving only King's and coalitions all vying for Heaven's mandate and supremacy. Yet in the background, the immortals of previous eras awaken, magic continues to grow yet disapear, prophets arise claiming to carry the will of the earth, and an age long plot for revenge inches nearer to a climax.
