In the eyes of the Sorcerer’s Guild, Inerys’ blood has been tainted since birth.  Born of mixed blood, she has two choices in life: toil away as a second-class citizen in one of the seven city-states or carve out a fringe life gathering precious materials for the Guild alongside her fellow hounds. For her kind, life is short and often met with a brutal end. Though for her younger brother, it doesn’t have to be. For him and what remains of her family, she risks life and limb hunting a forest few dare to enter.  When desperation drives her deeper into the dangers of the Endari Wilds, she encounters an otherworldly force her mortal mind can scaredly comprehend. Her brush with death leaves her forever changed with a deep, ancient hunger she can barely control and a soul that threatens to tear her body apart from the inside.
