When an evil, soul-consuming entity known as Vulgra offers Emerson, a fourteen-year-old misanthrope, the opportunity to eradicate the human race, the only thing stopping him is Mag’s friendship. But will that be enough? Follow best friends Mag (who has made it her life’s mission to stop people from dying) and Emerson (who secretly wants everyone to die) as they’re thrust into an adventure in an alternate dimension fashioned after their favorite Super Nintendo game. While searching for a way back home, the two high schoolers encounter an array of otherworldly beasts and are confronted by haunting mysteries about the untimely deaths of their loved ones. Mag and Emerson soon realize this alternate dimension is much more than just a game. This supernatural world is directly linked to the real world, and their decisions may have far-reaching effects. If they’re not careful, their actions could cause all humans on Earth to snap into a murderous rampage until there is no one left. Hilarity ensues.
