After Leif, the Treecko’s, home was destroyed by Team Magma and Norman, the Petalburg Gym leader, he is left for dead after failing to protect his forest. However, a chance meeting occurs between Norman’s son, Emerald, and Leif on the young man’s venture out into the Pokemon world. After meeting the determined Treecko, Leif’s goal of revenge and Emerald’s intention of peaceful existence clash as the two must carve out a lifestyle in the unforgiving world of Hoenn—a clash which will result in a confrontation with that governing humans of the region.
