Soon after Kai entered his second floor the diggers brought him five boxes, two Wood Boxes and three Rotting ones.
Kai smiled and touched them with his muzzle before smiling at the number 53 DP were found and he now had 102 DP, it wasn’t much but it was good since he felt that he hadn’t enough points to use.
“Hunters, now our dungeon is open. Be prepared to head out and bring more food to us, I’ll go out to hunt too.” Kai said and the two wolves bowed their heads. “Guards, you will soon evolve to wolves, protect our dungeon while we’re out.” He said to the two guards wild dogs. They were weaker than the wolves, but at the same time they looked less dangerous.
Without delay Kai walked outside but as the two wolves tried to walk out of the dungeon they stopped at the boundary of the entrance.
Seeing that Kai looked puzzled at the wolves. He couldn’t understand why they couldn’t get out of the dungeon while he could.
‘What is the meaning of this?’ He asked himself as he walked back to the dungeon. Than he felt it. A thin layer passed through his body and he could think of a small theory why the wolves couldn’t get out.
Noticing a flaw on his plans he changed the orders. “You two, continue hunting inside the dungeon while I discover the reason you’re not able to go out.” Kai said and the wolves walked to hunt some more rabbits and lizards on their own. “I have the dungeon core with me… but the ones I summoned don’t have a core of their own.” He murmured as he lied down on the back room where the two diggers were working together once more.
He couldn’t think of anything but decided to try his theory and decided to see if he could ‘buy’ the trait he thought was the reason his monsters couldn’t go out of the dungeon.
“No way… it is really here.” Kai said as he looked at the screen. “Monster Core.” He smiled, which looked quite weird on a wolf but soon he cried at the price. “75 DP… damn… but it is needed.” He said as he choose the traits.
It soon grayed out and disappeared and at the same time all the dogs and wolves howled in pain before they curled up. Kai was startled and jumped up looking around while growling but soon the sound disappeared and the dogs stood up as if nothing was wrong with them.
“What the hell?” He asked and touched the muzzle of a digger with his own and what he saw made him smile once more. A small round crystal had formed inside the dog’s heart, it didn’t damaged the organ or made the blood be blocked, it was just a crystal that was there. “So the price I paid was for all monsters…” He said relieved as he walked away while calling for the hunters to go out with him.
They were able to cross the boundary and once Kai walked away for the dungeon he felt the string on his mind stretch.
“Wow… with this I’ll know where the dungeon is no matter where I go.” He said as he could ‘feel’ where the dungeon was since the string was attached to the place he was. But he haven’t noticed, his shadow was weird, it would flicker without a reason as if it was alive.

A girl did her best to run away from some animals that were coming after her. She was crying as she called for her parents.
She had walked into the forest to look for some medicinal herbs and berries for her family but she got scared by some wild animals that were running all around her and she could only think of getting away from them.
She did her best but once she was finally able to catch her breath she noticed that she was alone in a place of the forest she didn’t recognize. She was lost and alone without a way to know where to go.
“Mom! Dad!” She shouted once after walking the way she thought the village she lived in was but she couldn’t get out of the forest and started to get depressed, it was then that a bipedal lizard appeared from a bush and the girl paled at its appearance.
It looked at the girl before it sniffed the air. She had seen the animal before, though it was a dead one, she decided to run while focusing on getting distance of the predator.
The lizard seeing it growled before it followed the girl while it made a strange low call which couldn’t be called a roar but a cry.
The girl run avoiding the lizard, which wasn’t that fast because of the many roots on the ground making it difficult for it to gain speed. But she knew that if she stopped she would be killed so she ran with all she had until she found a cave, she was happy to see it and without thinking she quickly run inside just to hide at the back.
Though at the same time she run in a shadow jumped out of the forest and stopped at the entrance. The lizards had caught up and the call had made more of them gather around the entrance.
They didn’t try to enter, instead they stopped at the entrance before they sniffed the cave.
The girl had entered and had moved to the last room, hid herself on a corner, right behind a bush she had found.
‘I’m going to be okay… I’m going to be okay…’ The girl said in her mind as she closed her eyes. She felt her heart beating like crazy and she could hear the sound of the lizards getting closer.
It was then that a powerful howl was heard.
AWOOOOO
She, who was already trying to turn into a ball, completely hid her body. She couldn’t think of anything else and just tried her best to not be noticed.
But as soon as the howl and the sound of things falling on the ground, a shadow covered the strange light, the girl, felt her hair standing up but did not dare to look up as a heavy and warm breath fell over her body.

Kai walked around the forest trying to find something to hunt but nothing caught his view and all he could do was call the other two to go back to the dungeon, which wasn’t far away.
It was then that he picked up a small noise. It was the noise of something running and soon others noises answered what he identified to be a call.
“This is our chance.” Kai said to the two wolves and the three started running to the place the he had picked the sound and once he was there he picked the scent of the prey.
Stolen novel; please report.
His blood was boiling with excitement, the rabbits and lizards inside the dungeon were easily defeated and wouldn’t give more than 1 DP per kill.
Following the trail he soon arrived at his own dungeon and there he discovered that 15 lizards that walked on their hind legs stood up sniffing the air.
“Good, the prey is in its position.” He said and howled the same howl he used once the dungeon was open.
The fifteen Lizards stopped moving when they heard the howl and Kai and his two hunters jumped out of the forest while running at full speed. It was at that time that four smaller shadows jumped from the inside of the cave as well.
The chaos was set because the lizards were attacked from both sides and by surprise as they thought they were the hunters until the moment the howl startled them.
Kai used his claws to pin down two lizards, which were smaller than himself, on the ground before he used his powerful jaws to break their neck.
While inside the dungeon, the guards didn’t work, but one thing Kai had made sure to do, rotate them so they wouldn’t grow lazy. Guards are diggers as well, but on another duty.
The strength of the guards were far bigger than when they were before, since they had to work breaking dirt and rocks with their claws.
The battle soon died and Kai smiled as he watched the victory he had obtained, though some damage was received, his side had the upper hand because of the pincer attack.
“Bring them inside and heal yourselves.” Kai said as he walked in and walk towards the back room, where he picked the scent of something.
He followed the scent until one of the corners of the room and there, hiding behind a bush he saw a girl.
‘A human girl.’ Kai thought as he sniffed the girl who tried to look even smaller than she already was trying to be. He watched her for a few second before noticing that she was trembling so Kai took some distance and walked out of the room just stop the dogs that were bringing the meat inside the dungeon.
“You all… you let a small human child pass.” Kai said looking at the six minions, they looked down as he said that but he wasn’t angry. “You did a great choice, don’t kill child that come unarmed, they’re not bad… but after letting this one enter it would be a problem if it didn’t bring us this delicious food, your choice was right.” He said to the dogs and with their lifted head they barked before walking back to bring the rest of the corpses back to the den on the first room.
Kai saw them work and helped them bring the dead bodies inside while he payed attention to the last room where the girl was but he saw that the girl had not appeared on the corridor and was too scared to move from the place she was.
Once the bodies were put inside the den Kai ordered the six dog/wolfs to pay attention and guard the den and dungeon before he entered the room just to hear a gasping sound as he walked in.
He turned and saw the girl, which was crouching on the floor as she held a bunch of herbs on her hands.
“Girl, what do you want in my den?” Kai said looking at the girl.
“NOOOO!!!” She shouted and she rolled once more in a ball after he had talked. “Mommy, daddy…” She cried as she tried to protect herself.
“I’ll not harm you.” Kai said as he lied down on the ground before the corridor, leaving the room for the girl, but saying that she wouldn’t leave without explaining things for him. “I’m a Dungeon Boss, my name is Kai.” He said with his head placed on his forepaws.
Timidly the girl opened her eyes after seeing that the big wolf didn’t attack her and was really talking to her.
“Mister wolf will not eat me?” She asked timidly.
“I’ll not.” Kai said as he looked at the girl once more. “The herbs you gathered, they’re yours to take.” He said without really minding the girl’s action.
“Thanks Mister Wolf.” She said bowing deeply.
“Tell me your name and how old are you, child.” Kai said as he looked at the girl.
“I-I’m Laura.” The girl said as she looked down at her own feet. “I’m 10 years old.” She said timidly.
“So… you walked to the forest while not being strong enough to go back…” Kai said as he looked at her from head to toe. “You will need to go back to town but I’ll not be able to help you. You can go with your own strength.” He said moving a bit out of the way to let her pass if she wanted to.
“You will leave a small child move on their own?” A voice came from the bracelet and Kai sighed as it shined and a small doll appeared before him. “You have no sense of protection?” Isis said looking at the wolf’s eyes.
“She came alone, she can go back on her own.” Kai said turning to the kid. “You can, right?” He asked and the girl shook her head.
“See? You know she was being chased, or at least thought about it.” Isis said a bit mad placing a small hand on Kai’s muzzle. “Now go and bring the girl back to her village.” She said petting his muzzle.
“I don’t want to, she can go back by herself, I have things to do inside this dungeon of mine.” Kai said but continued to lie down.
“And the things you have to do is?” Isis asked as she used the doll’s finger to touch Kai’s muzzle.
“Sleep.” He said before he yawned. “I’ve awake doing a ton of things and I’m feeling sleepy.” Kai said looking at the doll.
“Oh well, it looks like this lil miss will have to stay here then, if she goes out she will die, that is for sure, and you will have to tend her needs. What do you think, kid?” Isis asked the girl, who was frozen as she stared at the doll.
“Goddess of Life?!” She shouted before she quickly bowed her head. “I-I don’t know what I want…” She said holding her hands at her chest.
“See she wants to go back.” Isis said looking at Kai, whose mood had turned sour. “Do me that favor…” She asked the wolf.
“No, it will lead to too many problems. And she can go by herself tomorrow morning, I’ll instruct the others to not hurt her.” Kai said without standing up.
“Eh, but it was going to be a quest…” She said and soon Kai sighed.
“Then I just have to drop this child at the village, right?” Kai said and the Goddess doll nodded her head. “Point the direction.” He said as he walked to the girl just to use his mouth to pick her from her dress.
She was still holding the herbs but when Kai moved to her she got scared and tried to run once she saw his open mouth.
“Stop thrashing, you will fall and hurt yourself.” Kai said as he walked to the doll, who released a sigh. “Show me the direction.” He said walking outside.
“Then, just go south, you will see the village in that direction.” Isis said. “And could you be a little more gentle, the girl will suffocate at this rate.” She pointed Laura, who was holding at the cloth where Kai was biting.
“Okay.” Kai said as he put the girl on the floor. “Hop on my back, I’ll be running so don’t talk as I run.” He said as he lied down.
Laura looked at Kai before she shyly looked at Isis who smiled.
“You know, his fur is good to touch, it is fluffy and beautiful.” She said as she petted his head.
“Don’t go around saying things as you want.” Kai said glaring at the Goddess. “Sit on my back.” He said as he looked at the girl.
“Then… if you excuse me.” She said as she slowly walked closer to his body but once he placed her hand on his fur she couldn’t stop herself and had to pet him. “It is fluffy.” She murmured before she quickly ride on his back.
“Then I’ll be leaving.” Kai said and started running towards the village and Isis smiled before she turned back into Kai’s bracelet.
The girl was scared and grabbed Kai’s back as she clung to it as he sped up. He was actually pleased to discover where the village was but since he had to maintain his character’s personality he couldn’t just drop the act.
It didn’t took them long since the girl wasn’t able to go that far from it, but she got confused because there were no trail or thing she could see as a landmark to guide her back to the village.
“We’re here.” Kai said as he breathed heavily after running for some time. “You can go now.” He said lying down so the girl could get down from his back.
“Thanks Mister Wolf.” She said bowing to him. “And I should thank The Goddess as well, thanks for persuading Mister Wolf to bring me back.” She bowed before looking at the sky.
“Just go already, there is no need for you to come back to my dungeon, just make sure to not be in danger anymore.” Kai said as he walked back to the forest.
“See you again, Mister Wolf!” The girl shouted from where she was before she ran back home, with the herbs in her hands and a smile floating on her lips.
Kai only snorted as he walked away from the girl back to his dungeon.
