In the year 2160, a hapless scientist accidentally swaps the minds of every second British person with stone-age aliens from a distant and undiscovered planet. While Britain is turned to utter chaos, a group of strange green people (and quite a lot of very odd-looking animals) attain a sudden enlightenment, and begin to transform their society, creating social institutions, doing strangely foreign things like wearing clothes - all while having an inexplicable hankering for things called 'jammy dodgers' and a 'cup of tea.'
