Harold Jenkins,"Bugle" to his friends, died on April 13th, which, it turns out, was only the start of his problems. When he wakes, it’s not in heaven or hell—though hell might not be too far off—but in his world reduced to almost total ruin. Waiting for him is Benzomyazapan, aka Benzo, an alien genie who’s made a disastrous error. Tasked with resurrecting humanity’s savior, Benzo has brought back the wrong Harold Jenkins! To complicate matters further, Bugle lacks anything resembling combat skills and has zero knowledge of video games; his only real gaming talent is being a whiz at classic Solitaire. So, not savior material! Now, Benzomyazapan is fresh out of resurrections—no help is coming. It’s Bugle or bust! To undo his mistake and avert a total apocalypse, Benzo pushes Bugle to embark on a quest for the Seven Splendiferous Swords. Each blade is needed to stop the self-proclaimed Lord of All, Tobe Laternamed, from conquering what remains of Earth. Bugle, however, would much rather find a place to hang a hammock and collect a few quirky frog plushies along the way. How's it his fault the wrong guy was brought back to life!? But Tobe is coming, and if he gets his hands on the Seven Splendiferous Swords first... well, no one wants that.
