Synopsis
The year is a dissimilar 1444. For the sake of obtaining the power of a miracle, thirteen knights draw their divine steel against the era's last and only dragon.
According to a reading by the Astronomer Royal of the Kingdom of Astraeus, a dragon, long since a prisoner to mere fairy tales, has appeared on the remote island of Gnitaheath. The countries that have within their possession Holy Swords, able to achieve feats far above human output, have each officially declared a dragon hunt, aiming to be the first to obtain a miracle only possible by slaying a dragon. Their instructions are clear: if you happen upon the dragon, slay it, if you happen upon a knight from a different country, slay them.
Fafnir, a covetous being drooling over anything he doesn't yet have, meets these knights head-on in clashes according to an ancient system of conflict known as 'Divine Conquest' where the winner is allowed to impose their will on the loser without objection. He may be on the island, however, he clearly missed the very important memo of dragon slayers wielding special weapons. Of course, such a thing isn't a problem for a monster like him who stands as the enemy of the era for a very simple reason:
"Everything I notice becomes one of my treasures."
Steel that reflects the heavens shines upon the path towards miracles. Miracles beyond human reach.
