A lonely, nameless boy escaped from the remains of his destroyed family home, pursued by a pack of terrible and powerful monsters, and arrived in the great city Avalon, housing an insanely prestigious magical school, filled with mystical knowledge and brilliant teachers; the Academy of Echoes. However, the sanctuary of the place turns out to be hostile, and he is relentlessly teased and bullied by the students at the academy, until one day, the 'pranks' turn bloody, and he is attacked by a group of elite young mages, who also destroy the library in which he spends most of his time, alone. The knowledge that he gained from the place allowed the mysterious spirit of the Library of Echoes to awaken, transferring its power and Inheritance to the boy as it died. However, the boy's unique magical element caused him to become 'corrupted', and in the process, he received an ancient cursed title, and became the holder of the forbidden 'Desolation Song', setting the young mage on the harrowing path into nightmarish war, blood-soaked sacrifice and eventually, the prophesied apocalypse; brought by the boy himself. And on this dark and gloomy journey, the enigmatic 'Ice Demon', exiled and weakened by a powerful seal, of the great mountains gains interest in the terrible fate of this young man, plotting his freedom and the acceleration of the incoming doomsday.
