Monsters, gods, wizards, and other strange, supernatural phenomina. Standing between the mystic and the mundane is the Department, an organization designed to police the preternatural and fight against the shadows that would threaten civilization as we know it.  Employing and making use of reformed occultists, shamanistic wizards, forgotten gods, and mundane but skilled humans, the Departments bread and butter are S-Types: humans blessed with access to the Parameters, a tool that enables them to develop and grow past the limits of conventional mankind.
