Jarod, a homeless man living in Kansas, makes contact through his dreams with an exiled demon from a dark and dying world. The creature bonds with him and is drawn to earth, bringing with it a connection to a mystical force known as the Crimson Flame. This event triggers a supernatural invasion of earth, beginning a world-wide apocalypse. Jarod and Taron – the demon – find themselves on the front lines of a war between humanity and the dark forces that pour into our world.    Taron is an exiled rogue of a species known as the Kintari: cunning, twisted world-scavengers who seek out universes with sentient life and conquer them for slaves, entertainment and resources. Now that Earth is exposed to them, a doomsday clock has begun ticking. Without powerful champions to hold the demons at bay, mankind will be overwhelmed. Taron has little interest in humanity’s plight, but his hatred for his own kind gives him reason enough to help humans fight back.     As the conflict escalates, Taron works to keep his host alive. However, to stand against the Kintari, he has to break through Jarod’s self-defeating habits and teach him how to wield the power that he has inadvertently unleashed – the Crimson Flame of Immortality.  As the clock winds down and more powerful and numerous threats appear throughout the Earth, Jarod finds himself the target of one of the most dangerous demons of all – Avira, Taron’s mother, a genius of deception, manipulation, and betrayal.    With the stakes and the body count rising faster by the day, Jarod and Taron have to stop working at cross purposes and draw upon each other’s strengths before time runs out and Earth becomes another slave pit in the multiversal empire of the Kintari.
