Anita Bryce is missing in more ways than one. Over a month has passed since she was spirited away into the faerie lands of Arcadia.  Malena Nancarow is still searching. After risking her life in her quest to find Anita, Mal is left significantly more fae than she would like. She has little time to dwell on this however, as the High Fae she pledged a year and a day to has big plans for her time. When a murder in the Unseelie Lands brings forth clues as to Anita's whereabouts, Mal jumps at the chance to go and find her. But what she finds isn't what she expected and nothing could prepare her for how things are about to change.
