One fateful day filled with confusion and chaos, much of humanity develops magical abilities.  However, Earth itself has morphed and swelled, birthing new lands filled with strange humanoids and creatures, not to mention the vast amount of mysterious vortexes appearing all over its surface.  It is discovered that Earth is actually known as Midgard, one of the nine realms of Yggdrasil, the world tree.  The horrific truth humanity, as well as other races, must face is their near inevitable doom, Ragnarok!  Yggdrasil has started decaying, and, in the process, the nine realms have all crashed into Earth.  The only way to hinder or possibly stop the apocalypse is to close all the vortexes that have appeared. The tale follows a young man named Videl Kimber, as he initially sets out to keep his sister. Jaklyn, safe from harm.  He accompanies her as she joins raids where they enter vortexes, fight off minions, and finally defeat the boss to destroy the vortex.  Everything changes when they enter a seemingly innocuous vortex and must face something malicious!  Be that as it may, this encounter changes everything for Videl, and could possibly be humanity's salvation or hasten their doom.
