In this short story, the protagonist experiences a unique power: every time he dies, he goes back to the beginning of the same day. He and his girlfriend, Emma, discover this power when they try to prevent a plane crash. They seek a golden bullet that could potentially end his cycle of returning to the same day. After various encounters with criminals and challenges, Emma eventually shoots him with the golden bullet, ending the time loop and sadly his life.
