Synopsis
Death is not the end, but the mere beginning, as the mortal soul moves from the Realm of Time into the Realm of the Beyond, where the Deities who formed the world reside, watching over the souls who are not quite ready to move onto their next lives.
The tale of Xanthe, a young woman from a small village on the cliffs of Aglaea, began so long ago she can hardly recall most of the path that led her to where she has now come. Wishing to share as many details as possible to capture the very essence of the Truth she is tasked with sharing, she writes down as much as she can recall: from the mortal fear of the unknown Realm of the Beyond, to the vastness of the Universe and it’s Creator, and the very essence of why all things have come to be.
Xanthe explores the meaning of Death, Life, and Reincarnation as she recalls the details of her life, finding that the Realm Beyond is not free from a corruption of it’s own. Her lover in life rejoins her in death, and they spend precious little time embracing each other once more before angering the God who reigns over the Realm. They are cursed, and separated once more, now for eternity.
Escaping the distorted system of the afterlife, she finds that the mortal realm carries more dangers than ever before, as well as a new destiny that she wanted no part of. However, her views on the futility of love, life, and death are challenged as she realized that while she may be just a single soul in the vastness of eternity, some fates cannot be ignored, and some truths must be shared.
