On one corner of reality, Helen of Arsada is given a task unknown even to her by the gods of her people, forced to quest into the jungles of her home to further the gods secret war.  In another corner prays Henri Drangvale, regent of Veurdarak and acting Margrave of the Drangvale is abandoned by all he knows and loves, and turns to desperate acts to make sense of a new life without friends or loved ones. Trapped in a web of divine politics, and beset by tasks, curses, and burdens to carry out, some few lonely souls find themselves indelibly drawn together for purposes unknown, by forces who might not truly understand the consequences of their actions. Or that meddling with fate might end up poorly in the end.
