A young boy's home is lost in a fire. Amidst the flames, a man that the boy had never met before appears. He offers to take the boy in, explaining that he needs the boy's help to overcome his weakness. The boy, with no one else to turn to, decides to follow the man. The man raises him wthin a labyrinth of tunnels, leaving the boy with little knoweldge of the world. At first, the boy finds peace in his new life. After a time, however, the man's desire to lessen his fears takes a dark turn.
