Synopsis

Back then, they called them New Age Drugs. All you needed was a key to play. The biggest risk? Your in-game death becomes real. You could create your own world or build on existing fantasy worlds. I opted for the Hunter x Hunter universe, known for its beauty and multiplayer aspect, which also offered protection for new players. Most other top-selling worlds were fantasy-based pornography. Yikes. The side effects? Loss of desire for real-world intimacy. Exiting these worlds often led to depression and, sadly, suicide for many. A definite no-go for me. The Hunter x Hunter world, on the other hand, keeps you trapped until you die (considered an exit) or find the exit key. As someone new to this whole experience, you might wonder how I handle daily needs like eating, showering, and using the bathroom within this Dark VR environment. It's simple: my body takes care of those tasks automatically. Mind-blowing, even for me! In-game actions have real-world consequences. Eat in-game, and food arrives at your door courtesy of the game's subscription service. Rent is also covered based on points earned within the game, until you leave or die. Yes, you can literally starve to death in the real world. The question you might be asking: why would anyone invest in such an illegal game? My answer? Let's just say I made a stupid decision and didn't value my life at the time. Note: This diary was automatically written by a chip implanted in my head while I play. It will be published as soon as I leave the game or die, so follow along if you want to know how it happened and learn from my mistakes.
