The volcanic winter has lasted for fifty thousand years. The temperature is frequently dropping below freezing point, the sun is constantly obscured by dark smoke and dust clouds, lightning storms and acid rain are frequent, and the snows are gray.  This is the condition where the only surviving human civilization, Iota, is built under. A matriarchal Republic where every citizen is either a soldier or a clergyman. A democratic dictatorship whereby doctors and practitioners of medicine hold the ultimate social power, and the Church worships the scientific method of falsification.  On the East are ten thousands tribes, a schism of the church, once part of the same empire now want everyone in the Republic dead; on the West, an ocean so vast, no human has ever managed to see the other side of Earth; on the North, forgotten predators lured in between the slumbering volcanoes; on the South, humanoid creatures cast in pale white shadows march northward by the thousands; in our heartland, a populist fascist movement is on the rise…  Following the story of a few ordinary people, we will witness this unordinary period of history on unordinary Earth; witness humanity’s survival amidst a never-ending winter.
