Synopsis
There are things that live in the dark. Things that live outside of our world, things that feed off and take life from and deal with humans who have the luck or misfortune to stumble into such encounters. There are humans who have peered beyond the veil, that deal and collect power from these things and use that for great gain.
This isn’t what this is about.
This deal is simple: unlimited power for a life of fighting. There are people in this world who forsake the deals and the power to fight with iron and machines against predatory beings, but that isn’t what this is either. You don’t fight the Fae things who steal people and replace them with glamour and gutterstuff, or the vampires who use vast wealth and endless charm to drink the life from their prey. You fight the things that lie between.
The things that sit in spaces between worlds, that shirk labels by the way they constantly change and undulate. The things that have existed since fire and light birthed the cosmos and that will remain until fire and light consume them. The things that scare the Fae and the vampires and the things that live outside our world. The things that these humans who have looked beyond dare not deal with.
Disquiet is an urban fantasy web serial slash magical girl story with a darker and hopefully not unoriginal spin. It follows three seventeen year old girls in the summer vacation going into their last year of high school, set in a very small and very rural Ontario town. There be monsters and twisted spaces and themes of mental health, so you have been warned if any of that sounds unnerving to you.
