Daily Life of a Pro Gamer!
The most important outfit of the day.

The most important outfit of the day.

Enna stood in front of her wardrobe, gazing over her collection of outfits, everything was neatly hung up, slippers and shoes organised along the floor, she began to flick through each of the hanging pieces of clothing trying to pick something that could even hold a torch to the sheer stylish power that Niomi held when she entered a room.

Most of this stuff is pyjamas, and I can’t wear a track suit when I’m with Niomi, maybe I should just go out and buy some new cloths… no I don’t have the time.

She got down on her knees and dug to the back of the closet, hoping to find a fantastic outfit that she had forgotten about, or at least maybe some jeans but the only treasures she could find where the boxes her figures and toys came in.

Urgh! This is terrible, I can’t wear my team jersey to go out for coffee… this wouldn’t be a problem if the airplane hadn’t lost my suitcase and all my clothes after the last regional tournament, huh what’s this?

She spotted a black box under her shoe rack, she grabbed it with both hands and pulled it out, hoping for the best.

Maybe a cute black dress, maybe some cute jeans that I can wear with a pyjama shirt, I’m sure I could pull that off.

Her eager fingers loomed over the lip of the box, gripping the sides and lifting slowly, her nerves built, her mind running wild with the many thoughts of what the box could contain.

What if its a beautiful gown, backless and made of silk, I’ll walk into that cafe like a princess, everyones eyes will be on and no one will even notice Niomi.

What if its a black suit and tie, I would look so dapper leaving to house, I’d look great in a button up!

The lid was now removed, revealing the grand contents inside.

Horror and shame rushed over Enna face as she reached into the box and lifted out a school girl uniform that a fan had gifted her a few years ago, although she was desperate to have something nice to wear, she wasn’t that desperate.

Why did I even keep this…

Enna timidly walked up to her full-length mirror and held the outfit up to her body, trying to see if she could take any part of it and turn it into something suitable for the outdoors.

Maybe if I put it on and wear a cute hoodie over the top?

She stripped herself down, taking off the comfort of her pyjamas, she slipped the black thigh high socks on, stood into her skirt and tried to button up her shirt as best she could, she had been bought this a few years ago when her chest was much flatter and the last few buttons really didn’t want to fasten.

Her shirt nearly bursting open and the skirt inappropriately short, she looked up and down at herself in the mirror, hanging her head in a mix of embarrassment and frustration, she began to remove the outfit.

I don’t know why I even bothered to try this on.

She wrapped the school girl uniform up and placed it back in the black box, burying it deep in the wardrobe never to see the light of day again, she closed the door, pressing her hands against it as if make sure the uniform wouldn’t come to life and try to escape.

Let's think for a moment, where can I go get an outfit without leaving the house?

Her mind wondered, imagining what it would be like if she went and asked Eli for some nice clothes to wear, not that she’d ever seen Eli in anything but a tracksuit.

She would just shout at me and tell not to care about what I’m wearing and to get back to practice…

Enna looked over at her computer, a small feeling of guilt grew in her stomach, she didn’t want to admit it but she was nervous about getting back to grandmaster, she was excited to go have a coffee with her friend but she was nervous about taking the time off, it felt like she was letting people down.

I deserve a break, plus I’ll feel better if I have some time with Niomi, she always gets a laugh out of me, besides, I’m the best Eden player out there…

A genius idea rang in Enna’s head, she had one more place where she could find something nice to wear, but it was risky.

Three people live with Enna, there’s Eli the e-sports coach who grills her daily, Niomi the supermodel cosplayer who everyone seems to adore and then there’s Vail.

Vail’s a quiet girl who rarely leaves her room and lives as a shut in, she orders takeout to the house but always has Eli bring it up to her.

She’s nice enough when she passes people in the hallway on the rare occasions she does leave her room but Enna speaks to her all the time in voice chat.

That’s because Vail is a pro gamer as well, she plays the popular online trading card game Heatrock and her and Enna often chat whilst they practiced on their individual games.

Eli used to coach Vail too, but Vail found it too intense, so she coaches herself for the most part, she’s on Team Usagi as well.

Vail was Enna's last hope, she had never been in her room before but that boundary would have to be broken, she’d never seen Vail wear anything but black sweat pants and matching tank tops, but it was her last chance.

Enna perked herself up, settling her fast beating heart, similar to how she would calm herself before the last tense moment of a match, she marched out of her room and confidently walked to the end of the hallway where Vails room awaited, the door into the unknown.

It’s not like she's going to kill me or anything, she's always so nice in voice chat, I wonder if she's even awake.

Her knuckles tapped Vails door, the soundless environment of the hallway made the knock seem offensive, as though she was about to wake a sleeping giant capable of destroying the world.

Enna held her breath but straightened her back, unshakable in her quest, certain this unknown world would hold the treasures she sought.

Vails door slowly creaked open, the fearful sound of the old hinges did nothing to dent Enna’s resolve.

Vail stood there looking down a little at Enna, her black hair resting a little over her eyes, as usual she was wearing black sweat pants and a black tank top that did little to hide her wide hips and large chest.

Enna’s head rested at chest hight, she didn’t speak to Vail often and every time she did she couldn’t help but stare, a searing blush warmed Enna’s cheeks as she looked up to meet Vails eyes.

“Hey, I didn’t wake you did I?”

“Nah, not at all, I was just making myself a cup of tea actually.”

Curious as ever Enna couldn’t help but attempt to look past Vail to see into her room.

“You have a kettle in there? I should pick one up too.”

Vail stood as a stark contrast to her room, Vail was pale, pretty and her eyes sky blue, her room was dark, the walls were painted grey, her bedsheets, desk and gaming chair were all black, the lights were dimmed but a candle burned at a small coffee table where a kettle came to a boil.

“Wanna come in for a drink?”

“Sure! I didn’t expect you to invite me in so easy.”

“Why? I love visitors, you guys never come to my room.”

“I just assumed you didn’t want to see anyone cause you never come out.”

“Nah I love speaking to people, I just don’t like leaving my room, you should stop by more often.”

Vail led Enna over to the coffee table, two floor cushions were placed on either side of the low table, Vail grabbed a spare tea cup and put on the side Enna had placed herself on.

“What ya come knock on my door for by the way?”

Vail poured the the steaming water into the tea cups, the floral scent of the tea filled the room and felt as though it was clearing Enna’s lungs of all the bad they had even contained.

“This tea smells amazing! Where did you get it?”

I can’t ask for an outfit straight away, I feel kinda bad for not visiting her more often…

“Oh, I get the stuff imported actually, it’s an elderberry and cherry mix, super fruity but you can’t let it brew for too long.”

Vail removed her tea strainer from the tea cup, slowly dipping and rising it in and out of the water to extract as much flavour as possible from the fruit and leaves inside, the way she moved was so purposeful, she almost looked like a porcelain doll with the delicate way she moved.

I always forget how pretty Vail is…

“You should get yours out too.”

Oh yeah…

Enna smiled at Vail hoping deeply that Vail wasn’t capable of reading minds, she removed her tea in a much quicker and brash way, not nearly taking the same amount of care that Vail did.

“Sorry, I got distracted, been thinking about Champion of Cheers all day.”

“Don’t you always think that game?”

“Yeah but I recently got demoted in ranked, so apparently I need to put some more thought into it.”

Vail let out a wicked but joyful laugh at Enna’s statement.

“You’re one of the best players in the country dude, calm down, I’m sure it was just a fluke that you were demoted.”

“Thanks, I’ll work my way back up though, right now I’m more worried about lunch.”

“Why are you worried about lunch? Weirdo.”

I guess nows as good a time as any to bring this up, here’s praying that she has a closet full of dresses or something, though I doubt any of her stuff would fit me, she’s taller and defiantly got more body.

Enna let out a sigh, resigning to the fact that it was time, she hoped that Vail wouldn’t be offended.

“I’m going out for lunch with Niomi to cafe and I really want to look good for heading out, I’m hoping I can take some pictures with her and get some more followers on Twipper.”

“You hoping that more fans will mean Team Usagi’ll be less likely to kick you?”

“Yeah pretty much, a bigger fan base means more merchandise sales for them.”

“You really that worried about not gettin’ back in grandmaster dude?”

“I little, I’ve been telling myself that it wasn’t my fault for losing the match that got me demoted… but… to be completely honesty its no excuse, its a team game but I should be good enough to stay in grandmaster… even it means I have to win the game all alone…”

“I get you, I mean my game’s one on one, that’s why I like it, but when I lose I only have myself to blame, no choice but the get better.”

“Your kind of lucky you know? It must be nice not having excuses around you all the time, I think I’m just not playing as well as I used to…”

“You mean you’re tilting?”

“Tilting?”

“Yeah, you lose an important game and think you’re worse than you are, your mood makes you lose more and more because you’ve lost confidence in yourself.”

Huh, I never thought about it like that, I’ve won the last two matches but if I’m honest there’s this knot in my stomach that I can’t seem to shake.

Enna placed her hand on her stomach, looking down as though she would see a huge black hole in her tummy, she was far more nervous that she initially thought.

“How do you get yourself to stop tilting?”

“Easy! You just gotta impress yourself, gotta build your self confidence and I have just the outfit for it?”

“Huh?”

Vail placed the teacup she had been sipping on down and bounced up to her feet, striding over to a wooden chest at the bottom of her bed and dropping to her knees to fondle a big metal lock that kept the chest safely closed.

The lock clicked open and rattled to the floor, Vail opened the chests heavy top and scanned the contents, searching, looking for the exact thing that would boost Enna’s confidence, a sublet smirk notified Enna that she had found was she was looking for.

“Enna catch!”

A jet black piece of cloth flew through the air towards Enna, she reached and and grabbed it before it hit the ground, it felt soft in her hands.

“Try that on, you’ll look amazing!”

“Thanks Vail and for the tea as well.”

“Don’t sweat it, besides, it doesn’t fit me anymore you can keep it.”

As Enna unfurled the cloth in her hands, she got a full view of the gorgeous black short sleeved dress that she had been handed.

This is really pretty, I better go try it on.

“Thanks for everything Vail!”

“Go get ready for your lunch dude, don’t wanna waste anymore time on this, you got games to play.”

Enna stood and showed herself to the door, Vail waved her off as mature as purposeful as stirred her tea.

Walking down the hall, her treasure in hand Enna finally felt ready to go on her lunch date, she placed the dress in front of her and took a selfie, posting it straight to Twipper, in the hopes being a little more active online would also help to built her followers.

I may as well get people interested, well time to get dressed, maybe I can fit another game in before I head out…
