Klein didn't know if his Dimension Storage had upgraded or downgraded, but at least it was still functional. Moreover, the way it functioned seemed to have changed too, not to mention the very depth of the storage. His strands of consciousness couldn't find an end to it.
Klein ignored that for now to pick a good pair of underwear. Draping them on, he moved to find his ever-trustworthy enchanted cloak and armor—the glorious creations that combined Magitech and nanomaterials.
There wasn't any rule that he couldn't wear them both, even though that wouldn't maximize their benefit. Magitech armor was just taxing to keep on all the time; however, considering his circumstances, Klein reached for one of the better ones, which augmented his defense to the greatest.
Unfortunately, when he checked, Klein found the armor empty of all energy. That was an insignificant problem. All he needed to do was resupply the power source. Sadly, he found no power source—literally no mana cores, no cells, or power units. It was as if something had drained all their power to the last bit.
Klein checked all his plasma guns. The same phenomenon happened with their power units as well. Power units were made out of Chaotic Mana cores—their power too chaotic to be channeled into a human body—but it appeared the Dimension Sphere didn't discriminate on the nature of energy.
"Damn!" Klein cursed, employing his will back to the dark sphere to make sure he missed nothing inside. It was empty, with dark purple energy swirling around elusively.
After examining all his belongings, Klein draped his enchanted black cloak over a normal shirt, almost making peace with the fact that the dimensional sphere had consumed all his power units, mana cores, and essence stones to send him off-world.
Something like this didn't happen often. Who was he kidding? This didn't happen at all.
Sighing, he put on a pair of Gravity boots, which felt heavier on his feet without the energy to power them. Better than running around barefoot, he supposed. The armor would provide much better defense than the enchanted cloak, but it was a bother to put on, not to mention the armor made it difficult to draw mana. He couldn't just cripple his fighting capabilities for better defense.

Besides, he had an easier time with the transforming energy after he understood how to work with the black sphere. Until he created a power unit, Magitech was out of options.
Things would have been a lot better with Xin, but he didn't want to take chances with her anymore. He had already changed her entire structure to run on his mana during his worst times in the Dark Realm. He wasn't that desperate yet.
Stuffing everything back into the pocket dimension turned out to be a little challenging. With the sheer amount of articles, it took him over a quarter of an hour to pack them all. Klein had to do it in four installments, as keeping the black hole open for over five minutes was literally impossible. By the time he finished packing everything, the same pricking sensation consumed his mind again.
Klein made a mental note to be mindful of that. He meditated for a few minutes to recover his cognitive capabilities. Finally, Klein hit the road, equipping a bow, a quiver full of metal arrows, and a dueling cane latched to his hips. Lastly, he strapped an old bag on his back, carrying a couple of empty plasma guns, empty shells, and power units.
With towering trees surrounding the land in a wild shade, it seemed as though civilization was far beyond his reach. Klein covered the ground cautiously, moving from tree to tree, mindful of anything suspicious.
Minutes turned into a blur as he navigated through the woods. The forest remained unchanged—towering trees, dense hedges, the sun high in the sky, and a brisk wind caressing his skin—contributing to an overwhelming sense of unease.
The sun moved through the empty sky, devoid of clouds, when he heard a scream. It didn't sound like it came from a wild beast, but more like a scream of panic from a human, or at least a humanoid race.
Closing his eyes, Klein focused his ears on the scream. The trick was to ignore all the surrounding noise and concentrate entirely on the specific sound. His headache had subsided long ago, so he had no trouble discerning where it was coming from. It wasn't just the scream of panic he heard, but the howls of wild animals.
Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes and rushed in that direction. Two minutes into the sprint, Klein found the perpetrators who were causing all the disturbances.
It was a girl and a pack of wolves. Unnecessary to say, they were locked in battle.
Before Klein could decide, the girl screamed, noticing his approach, even though he was inconspicuous. She said something incoherent to his ears.
Although her native language eluded him, it wasn't too hard to guess what she was asking.
Help.
