My name is Long Aotian.
If I had been born in ancient times, I would've long soared in the sky and dominated heaven under my feet.
I would be living a fulfilling life.
But that wasn't the case. I was unfortunately born in the modern era where technology had advanced far and wide.
People would rather trust in the power of physics and science which anyone with a brain could deduce than something intangible like fate.
In the first place, anything supernatural is nothing more than superstition. Since none could provide absolute proof, how could one believe such a thing exists? Science and physics on the other hand are something that we all learn in school. We know it's real since the hardworking scientists submit actual proof to back up their claim.
It wasn't all just a made-up like those who believe in superstition.
In any case, I'm a man of physic. Although my name sounds domineering, it didn't really suit me at all. I don't believe in any superstitions and strongly reject them.
Though I say that, I know damn well that I don't really sound convincing here seeing as how I'm currently reading a web novel with those superstition elements in it.
What can I say? The author really wrote their story so well. If there's anyone to blame here, then it's them for producing such a very compelling story.
Ding!
"Hmm?"
Maybe I was imagining it, but I thought I heard a chime just now. So I picked up my phone from the table and swept the screen, I didn't see any new notification.
That's certainly strange.
Am I hearing things now since I've been burning midnight oils in the past few days? If it wasn't for the homework from college, I would be dreaming of being an overpowered cultivator beating the shit out of a young master.

Looking at the time on the hanging clock, it's only a few short minutes before it welcomes the new day. I also recall that tomorrow is my birthday. I can't believe I'm already 18 this year.
It feels like time moves so fast, and before I know it, I'm already a fully grown adult. I hadn't even popped my cherry just yet. But then again, I wasn't that active in looking for a partner to begin with. I have gone on a couple of dates but unfortunately, it fell off.
Was it because I'm not good-looking after all? Or was it because I told them to pay for their own meal during the date because I wasn't going to pay on their behalf? Maybe both, or maybe it's just not meant to be. Either way, I'm too busy with college matters to care about that.
Unbeknownst to me, my life from now onward will be even busier than before.
Ding!
While I was solving my homework, A chime once again rang inside my mind. This time it was clear I wasn't hearing things. It has happened twice, there can't be any more coincidences. I don't know why but I suddenly feel compelled to look at the time—it reads 00:00, the beginning of a new day.
[Successfully integrated the system within the host soul.]
[Welcome to the Cultivation System!]
"...what?"
...
"So, long story short, if I teach people cultivation, I will also become stronger, hence, Cultivation System—did I get that part right?"
I mumble while looking up at the ceiling in search of something intangible that may, or may not be there. Seeing as there wasn't any response, I sighed.
It goes without saying that when an unidentified gender voice abruptly resounds in my mind, it really took me by surprise. I initially thought that perhaps my delusion had finally taken over me.
If I told the doctor what had transpired, I wouldn't blame them if they were to send me to the mental hospital. So I did some research. Well by that, I mean just staring blankly in the air, and occasionally my expression changes.
From another perspective, I may have gone crazy.
But that's not the case for me. It appears that there's a game-like window interface in front of my eyes that couldn't be seen by others, and neither did it respond to my touch. What I did find out was that it only responds to my mind, fortunately.
And from there, I learned about my mission. I have to find an ignorant person to brainwash—cough, I mean guide them to cultivate, which in turn got me stronger. It's a win-win situation.
[First Mission]
Find your first disciple and guide them to the cultivation path.
Time limit: 7 Days
Reward upon completion: Myriad World Breathing Technique
Punishment upon failure: World End Apocalypse
There are too many things to retort when I first found out. First of all, let's ignore how suspicious the system is. So, how am I going to 'guide' people to cultivate when I have zero knowledge in regards to real cultivation? Or am I supposed to use the superstition knowledge I learned from the novels?
[The system will provide the knowledge.]
The moment I saw the message appearing in front of me, I grimaced as unknown memories suddenly rushed into my head all at once. It also strangely felt like it had always been a part of me, only it had been sealed until now.
"I see, so this is how one cultivates."
It's like a door to cultivation has just opened up for me. I almost lost myself to the excitement and cultivate on the spot—the temptation is just so alluring as if the Goddess of Beauty herself appears before me. Thankfully, I regained my clarity before I could commit a grave mistake.
Anyhow, it's just a basic cultivation technique.
With a thought, a black bean size pill suddenly appeared in my hand. I realized it doesn't have any herb-like smell that I expected from a medicine even when I sniffed close to my nose. If anything, others might consider this pill for a stone on the roadside.
But this is no ordinary stone. After all, it is something I was given from the system itself upon my 18th birthday. It's called Impurity Cleansing Pill.
