Yet underneath a sky of flame, the world turned dark as technology failed them and humans lost their edge.  Soon after the fall, they came. First individually and then in packs, turning civilization to ash. The first to see them thought they were figments of the imagination but by the time they realized what it was, the shadows had taken them.
