The Conversation
I looked at the Sadness, and she looked back at me with one eyebrow raised. I don't know what those black eyes of hers saw in me that made her give me a hug.
She smelled melancholy and dejection.
"I see that you are missing your ex, Happiness."
"She is with many, but me," I answered.
"I know; I am also with them as well. The more she stays with them, the longer I stay with them as well. That way, they even forget that she ever existed." She said with pride in her voice.
The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.
"Do you like Hate to be here than me?" She asked with concern in her voice.
I touched her black hair with my fingers to put it behind her ears. I wanted to see her doleful face when I decided to answer her.
"Isn't it a bit much to ask when I didn't even meet Love?" I answered.
"Oh, that one is sneaky. She comes and goes without any trace. If you bothered with me now, wait until she comes and goes; then I'll be your constant companion until you die."
"This world is a trap, isn't it?" I asked.
"Just for those who don't see it." There was despondency in her answer.
Her answer brought me so much woe and gloom that I hugged her this time and kissed her desolation lips.
When I stepped back to look at her, I saw she had changed her place with Love.
