For Yan Petrescu, life is a tranquil river. He has lived, so far, a simple and straightforward life, and he plans to continue to do so in the future. Being summoned by a small assembly of magi, on behalf of a coalition of political leaders, to help them in a fight against a mysterious sorcerer and its hordes of monsters and mutants was not part of the plan. There are a great many things Yan does not know or understand about the situation. However, there is one thing that he is sure of.
