Synopsis
Banners have been used in warfare for thousands of years, and yet people seem to underestimate their importance. The raising or cutting down of a single banner could cause the difference in battles with many thousands of combatants. Rhys Abbán Toutorix was summoned to another world by a flyer dropped by some unknown person. A normal college dropout who happened to have served in the Army for a stint. When he arrives he finds that the world has a game like system, he was designated as the Chwedlonol Arglwydd y Faner (Legendary Banner Lord) as his class, there were six others summoned with him and they were declared the Seven Pillars of Humanity. However something unexpected happened, Rhys couldn't gain any experience points while fighting with those summoned along with him. Eventually being deemed useless he is abandoned by the other six and even the Kingdom of Bradwyr stopped supporting him, annoucing to the people that the 'Six' Pillars were there to save them. Left alone he tries to survive and grow but cannot level up when fighting by himself as he is stuck at level 0, even killing monsters alone does not give him experience. With nothing left to lose he purchases slave warriors, only to find out that he gains experience when they kill things. This is the tale of the Chwedlonol Arglwydd y Faner Rhys Abbán Toutorix.
Translation note: I'm using Welsh, the translation won't be perfect, Arglwydd y Faner actually translates to Lord of the Flag but that doesn't roll off the tongue as well as Banner Lord (which is almost the same thing). I'm using it because, well I like how crazy the language is, and the fact that the British Isles have many legendary artifacts that I can use in my story, including but not limited to Dyrnwyn (White-Hilt) the flaming sword, Brân Galed's Horn which could summon any drink you wanted, the Halter of Clydno Eiddyn that when hitched overnight could summon any horse the owner wished for, Excalibur which should be self-explanatory, etc, etc.
