January 2024 Royal Road Community Magazine Contest entry! Jace Elric escaped death. On the day of his execution, human Jace Elric is chosen by the System, unlocking magical Master Speech abilities that allow him to convince his executioner, and every other Orc in the prison, that he knows the secret to immortality. After escaping prison, Jace only wants to reunite with his family. But, he’s now the most wanted man in the Magistrate, as the head of the revolution he’s accidentally started by convincing them of a myth. Jace must grow his revolution against the Magistrate, find his wife, and hunt down the heist crew that put him on death row. He can’t let the revolution learn the lie behind their mission, though, or they’ll destroy themselves and take him, too. Immortality is a myth, but he can't let them find out. What to expect: - No Harem- A world blending steampunk with traditional fantasy, where Orcs are treated as the lowest of the low class.- Growing an army- Lots of convincing and dialogue options- Lots of fight scenes when those don't work out
