In the beginning, before the existence of time, there was only war. There existed a group of forces, known as Primordials, the least of whom more powerful than the mightiest God that exists now. Some were more powerful than others, one more powerful than all. No one knows where the Primordials came from, or what became of most of them, or any true details of their “war”, as that was before the beginning of all that now exists. We do know how it ended, though. The Primordial of Chaos, Luck, and Quantum Mechanics, known as Infinity (Ifni), was attacked by a coalition of (most) of the other Primordial forces, who were thought to have been both jealous of her boundless power and afraid of her chaotic nature. She was far too powerful to be killed outright, but was not able to fully defend against her attackers. The final battle ended when her consciousness was shattered into an infinite number of facets. An entire universe formed around each of them, creating the multiverse of alternate universes we now live in. Each facet takes the form of a (mostly) normal native of their respective universe. When one facet dies, another is instantly born in that reality, preserving multiversal continuity. In times of true need, when a reality altering or universe ending threat rises, the facet of whatever reality the threat arises in becomes a Chaos Dancer to meet the threat.  This is the tale of one of those Dancers, a facet known as Ilnya…
