Synopsis

In a world where Divine Essence dictates your power, Arik is blessed by the skies themselves. Follow him as he grows in power, hunts Divine Beasts, and unravels the mysteries behind his godly benefactors. (The more synopsis you read, the more casual and nerdy it's gonna get. You'll also get a lot more details about the novel, though. Reader discretion is advised.) This is a slowburn LitRPG about a Celestial-affinity Paladin. It falls into the Magic Academy/University genre. Levels are gained rather slowly-- at least, from the reader's perspective. The main character, Arik, starts with a slight advantage over his peers, but he isn't overpowered. Not yet, at least. We'll see once he starts throwing around [Astrophysical Lances]. The "system" in Celestial Skies is called the "Waking Dream." It can only be accessed while one is asleep. This was done to reduce the number of times I vomit numbers for the readers, as I've been told it can be annoying. Also, I think it's unique and kewl. Most novels (including my other one, I am not exempt from this!) find excuses to powerlevel characters. It's easier to work with a character who has above-average strength, since you can throw them into high-powered combat and have a reason for them not to just be dead. Also, it lets you show off your system, creativity, and magic more quickly. Arik will eventually start gaining levels quickly, but not yet. Best I can do is, idk, a level every 5-10 chapters.   Scheduling: Celestial Skies does not update frequently. To put it in simple terms, I don't have a lot of time to write. Most of my time outside work is spent relaxing so that I'm ready for the next day, and sometimes that involves writing, but it often does not. Summer also tends to break my immune system into the dirt, for some reason, so I've been sick quite a few times. I'm trying to get back into the groove of things, but even then, if I want to keep things at least somewhat consistent in the future, I'm only going to be able to put about a third of the chapters I write on here. More specifically, 37.5%.
