What would you do if the world changed, and amid the chaos and destruction, you had the chance to have your wish granted?  To have someone be brought back to life? In Chikara City, a city in the pacific that has recently seen an explosive amount of growth and development thanks to the discovery of new resources and development, a city in a great age of prosperity and industry.  With plenty of education, business, and prosperity, it could be said to be in a golden age.  And that meant that countless people had come here, and set up various enterprises, far more then anyone could keep up with. And that also meant a rather robust criminal underworld as well.  With it being a port city, all sorts of goods have come and gone.  A lot of people have gone missing lately, especially children, and Detective Simon Jakota is ultimately puzzled by the sheer lack of leads in these cases.  He could tell there was something big going on in the background, but never could he imagined what would come next.   On the very same day he finally found a lead, something happens.  The city is trapped and isolated from the world, and most of the population dies off from a strange supernatural power.  With everyone left trapped inside what used to be one of the most populous cities in the world, forced to play in some sort of Death Game, and with supernatural powers and weapons spread around to find, its a battle to the death according to the rules of The Game Master, the one behind it all.  And the only way to make it out alive?  Hand over a lot of the Wishes, the Crystals which hold these supernatural powers, to escape the city, survive untill the very end...or perhaps, find The Game Master and end him for good.   However, there is far more to this than meets the eye.  Just who is The Game Master?  Why have they done this?  Where did these powers, these so called "Wishes" come from?  What is the mysterious organization that has been working in the shadows got to do with it?  Why are the missing children only reappearing now?  Who are these other people who seem to be using the situation for their own advantage?   And what path will the lead Jakota found bring him down?  What secrets will this path hold?  And who is the one who manipulates all these things? An ultimate supernatural battle royal between various people, factions, and sides is upon us, but with so many mysteries in the air, will the protagonists be able to survive and make it to the end?  Who will die, who will survive, and who will have their wish granted? It is up to those who bear the torch to keep up the journey and find the truth. -Inspired by Tasuketsu: Fate of the Majority, and also a bit of Bungo Stray Dogs. -An action and mystery heavy story focused in a city setting, where countless individuals, including children, fight for their lives and take other's lives in order to make it to the end.   -Several protagonists, but will they all make it to the end? -A fictional city setting.  (I wanted to make up all that I wanted regarding the placement and development of the city without issue). -I made the cover myself!  I know its really basic so its not all that impressive, but I worked really hard to get everything lined up perfectly which can be really hard to do! -I usually prefer to make my own worlds for worldbuilding, but this is set up on Earth...or well, a version of Earth with fantastical and supernatural powers existing as well as out of the norm stuff.   -I hope you all enjoy reading and have fun!
