Synopsis

Dying in a car crash was not the end of Jack's problems, but only the beginning. Rather than peacefully ceasing to exist, he was recreated, one agonized atom after another, in the middle of a terrifying wilderness where saber-toothed beasts lurk behind every tree, and beasts of the bipedal kind are not much nicer. Naked and unarmed, with no claws and fangs to match his foes, he's obviously little more than a mobile snack. Or is he? Because the thing about these funny-looking bipedal apes is that they are only harmless until they pick up a sharp stick. And the real trouble begins when the long apes with sicks find friends, because as the old ape proverb says: Apes. Together. Strong. What to expect Updates: Chapters weekly, if the Gods and Muses allow. Theme: An action-survival story peppered with science-fiction chunks, that does not shy away from making the mundane of the horrific, and making horror of the mundane. A bunch of random people stranded in a fantastic primordial wilderness among prehistoric wildlife is not a walk in the park, but expect a healthy dose of HFY, Primitive Technology, humor and Grim-Bright contrasts. Hot Sauce: This ain't a cookie-cutter, child-friendly ISEKAI story. There will be blood, gore, and violence, people being horrific to each other, people being horrific toward animals, animals being horrific to people, and possibly even plant-on-plant violence. Also, language so foul it would make a dock worker blush. Varying chapter length: Most are about 2K - 4K+ words. Some of these words might be numbers. Math might be involved. Im sorry!Reading Level: As can be guessed, I'm not a native English speaker, so the grammar, vocabulary, syntax, and spelling will be all over the place, not helped by the fact that I took upon myself the task of approximating various rare species of vernacular from all the mutated corners of the English Language Family to make my characters more diverse. Whether that makes the story easier or harder to understand is for you to decide. Moreover, I did a ton of research to make the "science" part of the Science-Fiction in this story more plausible, and promptly discarded most of it. There might be some crumbles of quantum physics, boating lingo, and paleozoology left though, so be warned. If something is too confusing, just skip over the nerdy bits. That's what I did, and I'm the author! Multiple POVs: Around half of the story is from the perspective of our Narrator-Protagonist, but a good chunk of it would be from heavily embellished POVs of his friends, enemies, and frenemies alike. Expect male POVs, female POVs, POVs of people from all kinds of cultures crudely filtered through Narrator's perception, and non-human POVs of improbable type and variety.DISCLAIMER: No Canadians were harmed during the production of this fiction.
