Only two paths are open to the worlds chosen to be integrated into the System. One is that of resistance. The other is to be fully integrated and perish, transforming into a stage for other civilizations to wage their battles on.  As Casimir’s world is about to face the same tribulation, he is approached by a refugee of such a failed world. A servant of the Tower, granted the right to nominate one challenger to climb its floors in the stead of his own people.  Faced with an incredible burden, Casimir will have to carve out a path for himself in a completely changed world. A new reality where the previous rules of society had crumbled down and even erstwhile friends can turn into enemies.  WIll he find the strength to carry that weight?
