Calun V is a world with a mysterious past. Its home is a system known to interstellar travelers as "The Bermuda Triangle" of the Milky Way. Ships that enter it have a strange habit of disappearing. After a little girl is separated from her parents on the planet's surface, an insectoid alien becomes a surrogate, yet reluctant caretaker. Though neither can speak the other's language, they both must work together to survive Calun V's hostile environment. Horrors and wonders await, lifeforms both beautiful and grotesque lurk in its dense jungles and gnarled brambles. This is an idea I've had for about a year and a half now. I decided I may get this down before I forget it. I've always had an affinity for "kid befriends monster" stories and that's what I intend this to be, though it will be quite dark. This is a potential entry for the November writathon, it just depends on how much time I have to work on it. I have a good feeling about it, but we'll see.
