Synopsis
It had been over 100 years since the end of the War of Tainted Glass and the noctilithic Gotarhei were hunted to extinction. Their power, once thought of as unimaginable, mysteriously failed them as they all seemed to collapse at once leaving behind mountains of corpses and the unbreakable Glassforged weapons. Since then the Highgardens have never truly attained peace.
Nekoiya of Kaur, an orphaned boy taken in by the Kalamaja–a tribe of wanderers on the frontier of the Highgarden empire, always longed for more than just day to day survival. Surrounded by stretches of unguarded lands and mystery A young boy harbored a single burning desire: To be useful, to prove his worth to those that care for him. But in a land where the very nature of life is power, those that do not have it are seen as burdens, tarnished and forgotten. When fate appears to smile upon him and he is separated in a dungeon, Nekoiya finds a Glassforged. A single touch sets off a chain of events that will irrevocably alter his life. Meanwhile Sylarinth Kauai, a noble boy seeks to regain the power of his forefathers and return it to his Highborn house. The secret wars of the Highborn houses force him to renounce his house in order to keep his family safe. However when he makes a bad deal with another house for power he begins to question if his desire was even worth it in the end.
