On a dark night like any other in Qúa, a girl knees where she always does- in the shrine of her family's goddess, offering her simple praise for the protection they have enjoyed. It is this night however, that changes everything for young Emilia, as the screams of her village reach her, setting her on a path of necromancy, music, and intrugue she never would have seen or expected, striding in the footsteps of her goddess through mountains and rice paddies, across seas and mountains, to find her place in a cruel world of might, magic, and malevolance - and to secure her place in the world which follows beyond the veil.
