Since he was a child, Ralph Hughett has imagined a red planet covered with unendingly tall trees and terrifying creatures. As he's grown, he’s learned to accept the visions as nothing more than daymares, hallucinations from an overactive and creative mind. Even so, they continue, and the creatures continue to approach, getting uncomfortably closer each time. Unbeknownst to Ralph, Claudia Lafleur has been trapped on the red planet for longer than she can remember. Unlike Ralph, who blinks in an out of the red planet involuntarily, she’s unable to return home. She's a prisoner waiting to die, held hostage by the very creatures that are hunting Ralph. All Claudia can do is observe and learn, waiting for her opportunity to strike. When Ralph and Claudia’s world’s unexpectedly (and literally) collide, they are faced with an impending apocalyptic war for the survival of the human race. To win the war, Ralph and Claudia both have to awaken the untapped power pumping through their veins. The very power that, somehow, allows them to travel between Earth and the dangerous red planet.
