Chapter 73- Prelude to Battle

Darkfang Hold

Chieftans House

Sosa looked at Jacob and his companions that had joined him, all were Immortals. "As you can see, the relief army will be in a position for us to ambush in 3 days. We will have to leave tomorrow though to make sure all our forces are in a position to attack the enemy forces."

"I agree, but I want to inter-mingle our forces. Make sure both of us are invested and to ensure that no one betrays the other. You lead one attack force and I will lead the other, agreed?" Lord Longstrider asked her.

Sosa looked at her brother and closest advisor before agreeing, "Agreed, just make sure whoever is in charge of the forces that goes with me understands they will be taking orders from me."

"I will make sure whoever is placed in charge of the troops will understand they take orders from you. I will be sending 700 soldiers with you, what can I expect in return?" Lord Longstrider

Sosa smiled, "You will get 800 in return with my brother to make sure that failure to listen to your commands will not be acceptable. Any more questions or concerns?"

"Not at this time. We can finalize our plans when our forces split and we will stay in communication with the stone your brother gave me." The halfling responded.

"You and your personal party are welcome to stay here Lord Longstrider, dinner is being prepared and will be served within the next hour." Sosa offered.

Jacob considered the Chief's words before agreeing to accept their hospitality. If he wanted a strong alliance, he needed to start showing Clan Darguun trust, "Thank you Chief Darkfang, my War Party and I will join you for dinner. Thank you for the offer." Jacob rose and did a half bow before leading the others out of the office. Sosa smiled as the other Halfling left, maybe they had hope after all.

Jacob watched as his War Party interacted with the locals, telling stories of various things they had done. Each story became a taller tale than the last and allowed the two groups to mesh a bit. He also listened to the whispers of those around him, even Orcs whispered when they thought no one was listening. A quick mental thought and a few minutes later from Cathrine revealed that the insurrection was not widespread through the Hold. The minority thought of Sosa Darkfang as a weak halfbreed that would have fallen long ago if not for her brother. They saw the splitting of the two a chance to kill both in battle, choices...choices.

"Chief Darkfang, you have never given me a personal tour of your Hold. I would enjoy it now." Jacob told Sosa which caused her brother to suddenly stare intently at Jacob, "Relax Dolbrug, I will treat her as my own sister." which calmed him, but made Sosa bristle and the women in his life laugh.

"What makes you think I need you protection Lord Longstrider?" Sosa asked as she stood leading him out of the Chiefs Hall and into the greater Hold.

Jacob smiled while following the irate woman, "I don't think you do but it settled your brother's mind and warned your enemies that I would fight at your side if they attacked you while you showed me around."

"What makes you think I have enemies within my own Hold?" Sosa asked guardedly while her hand moved to the long knife strapped to her side causing Jacob to smirk at her.

"Relax Chief Darkfang, I am no threat to you unless you attack me or mine. I know a couple of your people plan on killing you and your brother during the battle against the Sisters, that is how I know you have enemies." Jacob said as he continued to walk while Sosa tried to stop but Jacob placed his hand in the middle of her back and made her walk more. "Relax, all you have is my word. To your people that won't mean much. I will watch your brothers back as much as I can during the battle. I cannot watch you personally though."

"It is just a small faction that wishes for a leadership change. Overall the people here are loyal to me. Now how did you hear that they are planning to attack me?" Sosa asked while walking beside Jacob.

Jacob considered what he could say, "I heard it tonight while everyone was eating. I was trying to figure out how to tell you and I remembered you never really gave me a tour. So here we are."

"You heard them talk about killing my brother and me over all the talking and other sounds...I could not, so I apologize if I find your story farfetched." Sosa rolled her eyes as she walked with the other leader.

Jacob smiled and continued to walk much to Sosa annoyance.

----------------------------------------

The screams of joy and pleasure filled the night and Sosa snarled as she tried to sleep. Most of the clan knew not to be too loud in the Chiefs House. Guests were outside those rules and thus her current frustration. An hour later Sosa's frustrations finally came to a head as she left her room. The guards stationed at her door, because of the guests, were startled at her appearance and tried to follow but Sosa waved them off. A few turns later she was standing in front of one of Jacobs Drow woman who was standing in front of his door swaying and moaning slightly. Suddenly the door snapped open and a hand darted out pulling the Drow into the room causing laughter from occupants within.

"How can I help you Chieftan Darkfang?" the halfling asked while Sosa was stumped. He was standing there naked looking at her waiting as if he expected her to respond.

"Can you keep it down a little, some of us need some sleep. Please." Sosa told him as she tried not to stare but one of his women, a pale skinned blue eyed human walked up naked as well, encircling the other leader with her arms around him. She slowly dragged her hands up and down his body until they rested upon his hardening cock causing both Jacob and Sosa to blush. "Chal and June, can you please entertain my wife please." The two Drow women quickly dragged her away. One of them lingered behind eyeballing Sosa.

"We can always add one more master, she looks like she needs to blow off some steam before she blows up." the Drow stated before Jacob grabbed her and kissed her before turning her and pushing her further into the room with a slap on her ass.

"I am sorry for their actions Chieftan Darkfang. That will not happen again, Chalxae is right though, you look like you could use some relaxation if you do not mind me saying." Jacob said as he turned and closed the door. Squeals and moans followed but they were more subdued.

Sosa was blushed thinking about everything she had seen before she saw the guards watching her and glancing occasionally at the door. "Enough, I am sure you both have better things to do than stare at me or at Lord Longstriders door."  Sosa's thoughts were troubled as she went back to her room and to bed. She needed to concentrate on the coming battle and not on her guest.
