Chapter 262- Broken

Chapter 262- Broken

Surface- Torrential Waves Region

Island of Sorrow- Stronghold of Devastation

Jacob stood over the corpses of thirty people, thirty people who would never see the outside world again, thirty people that would never see their families again. Jacob collapsed to his knees trying to control all his emotions and never felt so alone in his life. His tattoo had grown up his arm now. It was only a matter of time until they won, his gambit had failed and he was stuck in this place with these people. Jacob looked at Alexi, who had a smug self-satisfied grin on his face. "Just give in Jacob. It would be so much easier on yourself if you would just let go." Alexi stated as he entered the room.

Jacob ground his teeth together and concentrated before moving forward in a blur trying to drive Sever into Alexis' heart. The other Vampire laughed as he caught Jacobs wrist but for once it didn't stop Jacob, just slowed him down. Sever pierced Alexis skin eliciting a yell of outrage from the Chaos Lord. Alexi snarled as his Vampiric side came out as he threw Jacob across the room. "Closer, much closer but still not good enough boy!!"

Jacob rolled to his feet as he snarled and hissed at the other Vampire. Alexi chuckled but before he could say anything else, he dropped to his knees and started to scream in pain. Jacob stopped stunned.

Alert...

Alexi Sunstreaker has broken a Vow witnessed by the Supreme beings, Adam and Eve. You have been freed from the agreement. RUN MOTHER FUCKER RUN!!

Alert...

With a boom of thunder a black Portal opened, Jacob didn't even think about it and jumped as Alexi continued to scream and writhe in agony on the floor.

Unknown Location

When Jacob opened his eyes he was in a cavern of some sort. After looking around he finally recognized it. "Elaine, are you there?" Jacob asked as he turned around.

She still sat on her stone throne, she looked worried though as she studied him. "Jacob are you ok?" Jacob tried to smile but for the first time in nearly two weeks, he was safe and out of the clutches of his mortal enemies. He tried to speak and tell her but nothing came out as the sheer magnitude of what he had been doing and what had happened finally crashed down on him as he crumpled to the floor in a heap.

Elaine moved quickly and gathered him up in her lap while stroking his head, "Its ok Kevin, breathe you are fine. Everything will be ok. You got away. Just breathe.' Elaine silently whispered as Jacob just lay there silently in shook as tears started to drip down his face. 'I am sorry Jacob until he broke his word I could not get you out of there. Adam and Eve were bound to the agreement just as you two were. This was the first opportunity we had." Elaine stated.

"You don't understand what I did Elaine, I killed all those people. They died so I could become stronger. So Chaos could make me a Chaos Lord." Jacob grated out as he tried to control the emotions that crashed down on him in waves.

"First off, no one can make you anything in this world you don't want to be. Not even a Primordial Power, not even Adam and Eve. Of all the things they can do, they cannot take away choice. She could prepare you and torture you, but in the end, you would have to choose to become a Chaos Lord." Elaine explained as she rocked him back and forth.

"Now as far as all those people you killed, that is far more complicated than you know. I have a question for you Jacob, would you die willingly for a cause you believe in?" Elaine asked as she stroked his hair.

"For the people, I care about, yes I would die gladly, protecting them. For a cause, such as protecting the world and the people in it from Chaos, yeah I would." Jacob stated slowly.

Elaine smiled at his answer, "So would they Jacob. They would die to free Chaos so she could remake everything. They would even sacrifice their lives so that another powerful Chaos Lord could be forged." Elaine stated causing Jacob to jerk up and away from her.

"That's crazy, way over the insane line Elaine," Jacob responded in disbelief.

Elaine snorted in amusement, "Is it. As far as they are concerned they are helping create a god that will serve the Lady of Chaos. To give up their lives to create such a being is a small price to pay. Jacob, you only killed followers of Chaos, not one innocent was harmed by your hand. They sacrificed their lives to strengthen you while weakening your mind to the point when it came time to choose, you would accept the Mantle of Chaos Lord willingly." Elaine explained.

Jacob was stunned speechless before he got up and started cursing as he paced back and forth in front of Elaine who smiled at his antics and description of what he would do the next time he laid eyes on Alexi. "I am pretty sure you cannot due what you describe," Eliane stated with a smile.

Jacob shrugged, "That doesn't mean I cannot try. No offense, I am extremely grateful for getting out of there, but why am I here?" Jacob asked the being. Elaine smiled as she stood and offered her hand to Jacob who immediately took it and followed her as she led him further into the cavern behind her throne.

"Before we get too that, do you wish to reset your Alignment?" Elaine asked and Jacob nodded. Elain grabbed his head and there was a slight pressure before it disappeared.

Alert...

Your Alignment is now True Neutral, you can join Light, Dark, Balance, or Chaos

You have lost the Primary class...Chaos Acolyte and Skill Tree.

Alert...

Jacob felt like his skin was burning all over so he immediately started unequipped all his armor and weapons and threw them on the ground. Elaine smiled before waving her hand at the pile of armor and weapons causing it to turn to dust.

"Thank you, is there anything you can do with this?" Jacob asked as he gestured to his arm and the tattoo there.

Elaine smiled, "Sorry but I cannot. Its a part of you now, but it holds no sway over you now that your Alignment has been reset. I would suggest you join another Alignment as soon as possible, I hear that Balance favors the Vampire race. Now as to why you are here, do you know what level you are?" Elaine asked and Jacob shook his head.

"Since this whole thing started, no. I didn't want to know what I was stealing from all those people. I didn't even look at the new Skill Tree or spent any Stat or Talent points." Jacob replied causing Elain to frown but node.

The narrative has been taken without permission. Report any sightings.

"The only Skill Tree you have access too currently is you Warrior Skill Tree because you joined Chaos your Blood Knight, Defender, and Shadow Magic Skill Trees were locked. Now what should have happened was once you hit level seventy-five, you should have undergone a trial to acquire a Shadow Creature. This trial would have accomplished multiple things, earned you a Shadow Creature, given you the ability to open a portal to the Shadow Plane, and you would have gotten used to the Shadow Plane. Now you are way past that point and you have no experience what-so-ever with the Shadow Plane and you have to go there for you find yourself there." Elaine stated causing Jacob to be confused.

"What are you talking about?" Jacob asked as he racked his brain for everything he remembered about the Shadow Magic Skill Tree. He remembered the Summon Shadow Creature Skill, but not what she was talking about.

Elaine groaned in frustration before grabbing Jacob head. Jacob screamed as it felt like an icepick was shoved into his brains then twirled around for extra measure. Finally, after a few moments, she released him as he stumbled back.

Alert...

You have Unlocked the Primary Class...Blood Knight and Skill Tree

You have Unlocked the Advanced Class...Defender and Skill Tree

You have Unlocked the Utility Class...Shadow Magic and Skill Tree

Alert...

Jacob stumbled back clutching his head as Elaine breathed raggedly, "Better. Not my best work, but everything is back where it should be and that bitch isn't ever going to undo it again. Now stop being a child and look at your Character Sheet and Skill Trees." Elaine stated with a smile. Jacob nodded as he pulled it up and stepped back stunned at what he could see.

I am not trying to be mean or guilt-trip you, but you killed a lot of people with that knife.' Elaine stated. 'Now do you see what I was talking about?" Elaine asked as they walked through the caverns.

Jacob nodded, 'Yeah you are talking about the Summon Shadow Creature and Shadow Fusion Skills. Correct?" Jacob asked her and Elaine nodded in acknowledgment.

"Correct, and you should have had one hundred and twenty-five levels to get used to the Shadow Plane. Now, you have none. You have no choice and must accomplish both at this time." Elain stated as she once again grabbed Jacobs head and new knowledge flooded into his brain.

"How is he?" Adam asked as he stepped from the shadows.

"Hurt, afraid, scarred in more than one way. He also has a lot of anger within, at himself and others." Elaine stated without turning around.

"Will he survive?" Eve asked as she joined her other half. Elaine didn't answer, she just stared at where the portal had closed and hoped Jacob was prepared for what was coming.
