Chapter 179- Dem Darohm Part 1

Chapter 179- Dem Darohm Part 1

Surface- Valley of Origins Region

Empire of Night- City of Eternal Night

Palace of Night- Master Suite

Developers Notes*

Immortals the Blue Diamond of the East, the City of Asifa, once long thought lost to the sands of Eastern Desert of Arakon has risen again. This once great city and capital of the Sha of the Eastern Sands was lost a thousand years ago. Its emergence will herald a new dawn for the kingdoms of the East.

Immortals can now Soul Bind to the City of Asifa. New Quests, Factions, Items, and stories will be unlocked in the far east. What side will you choose as the Sha of the Eastern Sands begins his campaign to unite the Eastern Kingdoms.

Jacob snorted as he read the developers notes and wondered if another Immortal was going through the same problems he was enduring. Jacob mentally thought of everything he had to do before he took a portal to the Blood Scorched Fort and to take on the Dungeon Raid. Cathrine was still asleep beside him and Jacob had learned to never wake her unless it was an emergency, she was NOT a morning person. Sosa was still assisting and repairs to the forts her people had taken in the Black Basalt Region. Jacob didn't expect much of her time for a couple of weeks. Most of his War Party were either grinding out in the Valley or assisting with reconstruction efforts throughout the Valley. If Jacob didn't have to level so much, that's what he would be doing he thought as he pulled up the information on the Dungeon Raid.

Dungeon Name: Fallen Kingdom of Dem Darohm

Age: Ancient

Level: 41-45

Recommended Party Size: 50

Jacob quietly rolled out of bed and donned simple cotton pants, shirt, and leather boots. Moonlight and his armor would stay on the stand until after he came back, hopefully, Cathrine would be awake by then so he could update her on the Obsidian Throne quest line. Glagor and the other elders were putting out feelers to see what Dwarven clans would be up for reclaiming one of their Ancient Homelands. They had not given any information away, but they were asking what if to a lot of the smaller clans outside the control of the Granite Throne.

Word would get out eventually, but the Thunderhammers were tied to Slate Rock Cavern and not the Empire of Night. So that would buy them some time as Jacob reclaimed the old Dwarven Kingdom, the greater question would be, what to do with it, once they finished the quest. He couldn't allow such a powerful neighbor that close to the Valley of Origins without some assurances. Jacob would have to require an Oath of Allegiance or make them a Client State.

Glagor had already assured Jacob that he and his clan would not abandon the Empire for the Obsidian Throne just because it had reappeared. They kept their word and their Mechanized Golems were already pouring into almost every fortress the Empire controlled. The Cities of Gahlin, Ineford, and Anchorhead all had garrisons of Mechanized Golems. Jacob wanted to augment the Walls' garrison with Mechanized Golems as well.

Dwarven Engineers swore they could create Mana-Cannons to bolster the defenses of both the City of Eternal Night and the Wall now that they had a steady stream of liquid Mana to fuel their production. However, they needed to refine the Mana to do that, and it would take time to build the facilities and process the liquid Mana. Jacob dismissed his thoughts as he entered the Dining Hall and waited in line for the buffet.

Entry Hall

Jacob looked at the 50 man group, some of them sporting new gear from the raid yesterday, either purchased or built since then. Jacob could use an upgrade as far as Rings went, but so far nothing he had found had been an upgrade. Jacob would have Yilme as a healer, Darren, Ashley, and Dragog Hammerstriker were the DPS for Jacob group. Dragog was a Dwarven Battlerager wielding paired hammers. Jacob remembered him faintly from the battle against the Twin Fang War Horde. Ashley was their magical support and a potent Elementalist still aiming to be a War Mage when she hit 50.

Note* To all Immortals entering the Dungeon Raid, this instance is locked to you and your party for one week. At which time the Dungeon will be reset and you will have to start all over. Good luck and have fun...Blackrock Entertainment

Jacob froze when he read the quests and more than one of the Immortals was excited to be going on the Dungeon run, but it was far from assured that they would survive, much less complete the Dungeon run. "Ok people, this will be our first big raid together. Keep it tight and keep the raid channels clear, if you need to relay something to me, have your party leaders relay the information too me. Groups 1 and 5 are together. 2 and 6, you get the idea. Once we clear the main hall, we will go from there. We are going slow since we have no guide and we have never done this before. Let's get to work, groups 1 and 6 on point." Anastasia called out over the raid channel.

Jacob looked at Ashley, "You are in charge of calling the shots, we will take it slow. Coordinate with the group leader of the sixth team." The Sixth team was led by a Necromancer, and his group included a Battle-Warden tanking, Ranger, Priest, and a Rogue-Assassin. Fairly well rounded considering Jacobs group leaned toward physical firepower over Magical. Ashley nodded as Jacob took point and entered the main hall, groups of Orcs and Duergar were clustered around tables, eating and drinking.

Jacob quickly analyzed the nearest table to get a sense of how strong they were before Ashley started her pull. Each table was filled with a mix of Duergar and Orcs.

Name: Orc Warrior

Level: 42 (Elite)

Health: 160,000/160,000

Abilities: Cleave, Power Strike, Unknown

Name: Duergar Soldier

Level: 41 (Elite)

Health: 140,000/140,000

Abilities: Power Strike, Shield Bash, Unknown

Name: Duergar Priest

Level: 43 (Elite)

Health: 110,000/110,000

Abilities: Healing Shield of Faith, Light Heal, Unknown

"I am going to start the pull in 10 seconds, Jacob you have the floor for 5 seconds to get aggro," Ashley called out as a couple last minute buffs landed on him. Jacob was mentally checking to make sure he had activated all his Passives and all his self buffs as he drew Moonlight and waited.

A Firebolt flashed over Jacobs' shoulder and slammed into the Duergar Priests face causing him to yelp then scream as his beard caught fire. Jacob would have laughed except the two Duergar and two Orcs sitting with him scrambled out of their seats and started to rush toward them. Jacob waited until they were more than halfway to their position before activating War Cry and Piercing Lunge. The Duergar that Jacob targeted, screamed as Moonlight skewered his stomach. Jacob immediately fell back and out of the way so the next group could make a pull without interfering with group 1 and their fight.

The Priest regained his feet and started cursing as he ran off after his compatriots. He threw some shield over the Duergar that Jacob had nearly gutted as the four Warriors moved in pursuit of him. Once Jacob had backed up enough that his back was almost touching the nearby wall, Dragog entered the fray duel wielding twin hammers. Ashley added a Fireball to the mix that exploded among their packed ranks. Before the Priest could do anything to relieve them of their pain, Darren dropped out of Stealth behind him and went to work.

Jacob was doing his best, but against four Elites, even he was being pressed hard. Jacob activated War Stomp stunning three of the four Warriors and buying him enough time for his passive abilities to kick in and start ratching up his Health Regeneration. The last was an Orc Berserker Enraged state and could not be stunned as he continued to pummel Jacob with an oversized ax. Dragog slammed into the Orcs back, his twin hammers bringing ruin to the Orcs backbone and slowing him down long enough for Jacob to take his head as the other Orc and Duergar finally shook off the stun effect and rejoined the fight.

Fire exploded around them as Ashley added some sort of Cone of Fire, or something similar to the mix that was destructive but would not rearrange the landscape like some of her other abilities. Jacob quickly triggered his Reaver Attack to help recoup some of his health as the Duergar Priest finally gave up the ghost and Darren smiled as he disappeared back into Stealth. Jacob smiled as he continued his own assault, and wondered how big the place really was.

Name: Piggu the Vile-Cook (Unique)

Level: 41 (Mini-Boss)

Health: 0/170,000

Abilities: Sloppy Joe Suprise, Celery Cyclone, Unknown

Jacob studied the corpse of the fat, oversized Orc that loved to hurdle explosive Sloppy Joes at anyone within range. He had done so when he lost 25% of his health. The healers had been almost overwhelmed and if the tanks hadn't played ping-pong with the guys aggro, Piggu might have wiped the raid. Everyone was taking a knee though and resting. The boss had been a mix of Tank/DPS/Healer, except with food.

Jacob honestly had to think the fight would be funny as hell for those that would watch it on his stream once it came out, but for them, it had been a pain in the ass. "Moving out in 5 minutes, re-buff then move out," Anastasia called out over the raid channel. All the group leaders immediately started to get to work.

Dungeon- Fallen Kingdom of Dem Darohm

Armory

Dozens of Duergar and Orc corpses were left behind them as they found their way to a dead end, the Armory. Within lay two Mini-Bosses. One was a Duergar, based on his gear he was a Rogue of some sort and an Orc Berserker.

Name: Krognak the Undaunted

Level: 42 Mini-Boss

Health: 250,000/250,000

Abilities: Cleave, Power Strike, Jump, Unknown

Name: Othac the Shadow

Level: 42 Mini-Boss

Health: 200,000/200,000

Abilities:  Stealth, Backstab, Unknown

Jacob studied the information as Anastasia gave out her orders, Jacobs group was going after the Berserker with two other groups. Tarren was going to be tanking the Rogue, both jobs would hurt, but the Rogue would have more sustained damage with poisons. "30 Seconds, group one will start us off," Anastasia called out over the raid channel.

Jacob looked over at Ashley who was checking all her belt slots before she cast a spell on Jacob.

Battle Alert...

Buff Stoneskin: Increase Armor by 10% (Duration 10 Minutes)

Battle Alert...

"Enjoy it while it lasts, I got a 30-minute cooldown on that spell," Ashley called out.

Jacob nodded his head as he checked all his self-buffs and his own potions. A Magma Blast streaked overhead and slammed into the Orcs shoulder. He glared at Ashley and immediately charged their way while Othac stood up quickly and dropped into Stealth before anyone in Tarrens group could tag him. Crap Jacob thought as he intercepted the charging Orc and activated Shield Bash stopping the overlarge Orc in his tracks. The Orcs glare swiveled to Jacob before his closed fist shot out and punched Jacob in his shield forcing him back a couple of steps and giving the Orc time to draw the huge double headed ax off its back.

Jacob could feel his eyes bulge slightly as he saw the blade before he shook himself and triggered Piercing Lunge. Jacob failed to skewer the Orc but he still managed to bloody his shoulder as they exchanged blows as he tried to lead the Orc so that the other party member could attack. Armor stands and weapons racks were limiting his mobility though.

----------------------------------------

Tarren was looking desperately for the Rogue, his own Rogue teammate hadn't tagged him yet so Tarren decided to give the Rogue a better target. Tarren walked into the middle of the room and went down to one knee as if he was praying. His sword growing brighter until with a burst of Light Tarren activated Consecration.

Battle Alert...

Buff Holy Ground: Decrease all damage taken by 5% and increase healing received by 10% (Duration 1 Minute)

Battle Alert...

The Duergar howled as the Holy ground burned him, it would have been even better if he was Undead, but he still was an enemy so he received 25 DPS as long as he stood upon the Consecrated ground. Tarren immediately charged him pinning the Duergar before he could disappear back into Stealth.

Tarren triggered Holy Strike and the next time his Blade connected with the Duergar, a burst of Holy Energy slammed into the Rogue burning him for double the amount Tarren had dealt with the initial strike. A blast of Fire and Necrotic energy slammed into the Duergar as Tarren continued his assault. The Paladin gave the Rogue a feral smile as he continued to move the Mini-Boss around exposing the Duergars back to his guildmates.

----------------------------------------

Battle Alert...

De-Buff Concussed: Accuracy decreased by 50% (Duration 1 Minute)

De-Buff Cracked Skull: 25% chance Skills/Abilities will misfire (Duration 15 Minutes)

Battle Alert...

Jacob tried to bling the spots from his eyes as he rolled onto his stomach. Based on the roar of anger, one of the Off-Tanks had already picked up the aggro of Krognak. "Shit Jacob, are you ok?" Yilme asked as she ran up already channeling healing magics his way.

"What hit me?' Jacob tried to say, but it came out as incoherent babbling which caused Yilme to chuckle as she continued to channel magic into Jacob. After about a minute he could finally get coherent words out. 'What hit me? One second I was dodging an ax swing and the next...?"

Yilme snorted, "It was the broad side of his ax blades. Krognak caught you by surprise and slammed it into you pretty good. Now get your ass back in there guild leader and number one damage sponge." Yilme cackled as Jacob stood and signaled his group and raid that he was ready to fight as he analyzed the Mini-Boss who had sucker punched him,

Name: Krognak the Undaunted

Level: 42 Mini-Boss

Health: 189,342/250,000

Abilities: Cleave, Power Strike, Jump, Unknown

After a particular punishing blow, the Shield Warden was sent careening into a nearby arms rack. It was obvious the guys had a broken jaw and was maybe missing some teeth from the amount of blood he had to spit up. Jacob didn't let the other Off-Tank try, he wanted a rematch and Piercing Lunge to Krognaks' kidney was a great way to grab his attention.

The Orc snarled at Jacob before he tried to headbutt him. Jacob quickly dodged back before moving back in, Moonlight leading trying to hack at the Orc armored form. Krognak took the hit at his elbow but kept on swinging despite the blood and torn armor.

Jacob quickly took note of any other weaknesses in the Orcs armor and found none other than the lucky shot Krognak had given him when he blocked with his arm. Jacob knew Moonlight would eventually cut through Krognak's armor, but it would take time, and until he did the damage he dealt too the Orc would be somewhat blunted.

----------------------------------------

Tarren was taking a breather as the Knight continued to hold the Duergars aggro, once a Tank hit 50% they switched out. The Knight had stepped in smoothly to take all the aggro within 10 seconds of engaging Othac. Knights were pretty good at that and had several skills and abilities that assisted them with such things. That's why they made such great off-tanks. The downside of the Knight class was they sacrificed a shield to wield two-handed weapons.

Knights had Stances, similar to a Paladins Aura, that gave a Knight passive buffs to what they needed in a fight. Tarren was willing to bet a 100 Gold, the Knight was using a Stance that buffed his Dodge and Counter Attack chances. Judging from the small gashes in the Knights armor and steadily dwindling health pool, it wasn't a perfect defense as Tarren readied himself to reenter the battle. A huge scream of pain caught Tarrens attention and jerked it to the other ongoing fight against the Orc that had somehow lost an arm, "YEAH YOU LIKE THAT BITCH. NEXT TIME DON"T SUCKER PUNCH PEOPLE!!!" Jacob screamed out at the Orc that suddenly started glowing red and whirling like a top. Whirlwind!! That was a level 50 Berserker ability!! FUCK Tarren thought as he moved to attack the Rogue.
