Jacob stood over the corpse of Grugug the Apprentice, the bastard had summoned a Skeletal Knight when he had hit 25% making the fight that much harder. Thelgrum had saved Jacobs ass using Cleanse before the De-Buff Necrotic Poison could end him. Jacob dismissed his thoughts as he checked the two Dungeon Quests.

Jacob dismissed the information as they started destroying the patrols inside the Hold. 30 minutes later they finally finished the last of the patrols and were able to finally approach the Chiefs Hall. Standing outside it was Orak the Warchief with two Shamans, four Goblins, and Two Doom-Reaver Warriors. Jacob analyzed the Mini-Boss as he closed the distance with his armored form.

The War Chief wielded a double-bladed ax and shield, his armor was plate-mail, he was going to be a tough SoB to down Jacob thought as he triggered Piercing Lunge followed by Hemorrhage, earning their hatred as the coughed up blood as they moved to engage Jacob. War Stomp stunned them all except Orak who quickly followed Jacob as he led him away from the rest of his party as Thelgrum and Rory engaged them.
Jacob dodged back as the War Chief came in swinging, the double-headed ax nearly splitting Jacob skull as he moved back in activating Triple Slash, only one of the strikes drawing blood. Orak howled activating an ability that surrounded him and the other defenders in some Aura as he slammed his ax into the ground. Shards of rock exploded from the ground peppering Jacob with shards of rock as Orak charged forward.
Jacob tried to hold his feet but the Orc had about four inches height and 50 pounds on him, not counting the armor he was wearing as Jacob finally collapsed as Orak activated another ability. A deep red aura encompassed his ax as it descended but a Magma Blast slammed into the Orc flank through Oraks' aim off.
Jacob smiled as he kicked the Orcs knee propelling himself backward and rolling to his feet and setting himself as Orak began his assault again. Jacob deflected, dodged, parried, before attacking. Shield Bash followed by Reaver Attack, followed by two dodges and a Piercing Lunge. Jacob had to make openings in Oraks' defenses, but the Orc was excellent at recovering from his attacks and covering any openings with his shield.
Orak snarled as he activated yet another ability as causing a red and blue aura to surround his shield as he charged forward. Jacob leapt to the side activating Power Slash as the Orc ran past cutting into the Orcs knee causing Orak to stumble. Jacob quickly capitalized on the Orcs mistake and activated Triple Slash, three deep rents appeared in the Orcs armor as Moonlight cut into Orak's back. Jacob quickly analyzed the Orc as he continued to hack and slash at Orak's vulnerable areas.

Orak howled in anger as he triggered War Stomp, sadly Jacob didn't resist the stun effect, leaving him disoriented and unable to do anything.

Jacob couldn't even yell for help as a red aura enveloped Oraks' ax again as it slammed into Jacobs' chest and sent him sprawling into the ground. Jacob grunted as over two-thirds of his health disappeared in one hit.

Jacob coughed up bile and blood as he tried to clear his lungs as Orak stalked closer. Fenwyn had been watching though and her Soldier Demon slammed into Orik driving the Mini-Boss away from Jacob as the Demon launched an all-out attack against the more powerful foe. Fenwyn not to be left out hit Orik with Soul Blast weakening the Orc.
Jacob immediately pulled a strawberry tasting Small Healing Tonic from his belt followed by a cherry flavored Medium Healing Potion. The Second potion brought his health back nearly to the halfway point while the first would heal his bones and provide a minor HoT effect. Jacob threw the two empty vials away as he regained his feet, the Demon was still on the offensive, but Orik was holding up well so far. Snaggletooth landed Life Fountain on Jacob accelerating his healing even more as he stood.
Jacob activated Piercing Lunge followed by Triple Slash, Reaver Attack, and finally, Hemorrhage causing Orak to stumble back from the sustained assault. Jacobs overwhelming assault on his exposed flank dropped the Orcs health by nearly 10,000 as he turned to face Jacob. Jacob set himself and slammed Moonlight against the edge of his shield, "BRING IT, BITCH!!!" Jacob screamed out. It was time to end this fight.

Sitting on the throne was a sickly looking Orc with a pair of Wraith Knights on either side of him and a squad, six, Skeletal Warriors standing at the base of the dais. Matuk the Bone-Reaper was half Goblin based on his size and stature.

All the Shamans had been killed, so unless he had a Life Tap or Life Leech ability/skill, the Boss had no way of healing himself or his minions. He would probably hit hard though Jacob thought as he looked at his companions, "Ideas?" Jacob asked as they took in their enemies and layout of the hall.
"We can try the same thing we did with the Apprentice?" Thelgrum offered.
Chalxae snorted, "He won't fall for that trick and something tells me those Knights won't move until we engage Matuk directly. Only then will they engage whoever attacks him first before anyone else."
Jacob could see the faint lines of Mana between the Necromancer and all the Undead, they were more like chains between him and the Knights. What the significance of that meant was unknown to Jacob, but it gave more credence to Chalxaes' thought.
"Other ideas?" Jacob stated.
"We can try a pull and get the Skeletal Warriors away and back toward the hallway leading into the Main Hall." Fenwyn chipped in.
Jacob nodded looking at Thelgrum who shrugged his shoulders the Dwarf did not care where we faced our enemies, only that we did face them. So they started hashing out their plans.

June disappeared between Jacob and Thelgrum as the friendly Undead slammed into the oncoming ranks of hostile Undead. They would survive for only a short time, but they were being used to weaken their foes, they were not expected to win. One minute was all the time they bought before Matuk caught up and easily destroyed them. The hostile Undead continued on slamming into Jacob and Thelgrum.

Thelgrum would do more overall damaged, but Moonlight was also blessed with some Light based magic, so Jacob was stacking some damage on the hostile Undead. Then Fenwyn, Shigna, and Patemal unleashed their magic on the Dungeon mobs. Hellfire, Magma, and blasts of Necrotic energy slammed into the hostile Undead as Jacob, Thelgrum, and Rory fought to keep them in the doorway.

Jacob silently cursed as the heavy duty Knights arrived and slammed into Jacob and Thelgrum. Jacob smiled as Shigna and Patemal began summoning their Golems as Jacob, Thelgrum, and Rory started pulling back toward the entryway of the building and further from the boss.
As soon as they emerged into the entryway, Jacob disengaged as the Golems slammed into the Undead. Only three of the Skeletal Warriors remained, but both Wraith Knights were still going strong. Jacob looked beyond the melee as Jacob moved toward Matuk the Bone-Reaper, who hit Jacob with a curse and Necrotic Blast.

Jacob snarled as he activated Shield Bash followed by Reaver Attack, causing the sickly looking Necromancer to stagger back before he spit out a few words and summoned two more Skeletal Warriors. Neither one was an Elite though and only sporting 5,000 life each, but their oversized swords bit deep into Jacobs armor drawing blood.
Matuk started to cackle but it then turned into a cough as blood spurted from his mouth as Chalxae triggered Backstab. Death Root Poison flowed through Matuk veins dealing damage to the Necromancer and increasing his casting time as the Assasin went to work. Jacob quickly finished the Skeletons and re-engaged the Necromancer before Chalxae drew too much attention. Piercing Lunge followed by Hemorrhage was a great way for Jacob to keep the Necromancers hatred turned toward him as he continued his assault.

Jacob watched the twitching form of Matuk the Bone-Reaper, Chalxae was already combing the room for any hidden items, passageways, or treasures as June started looting. Thelgrum, Snaggletooth, and Mug were making their way through the party dealing with wounds and curses. Jacob was reviewing the Alerts from the Dungeon.

Jacob dismissed all the information, he had less than 40,000 Experience points to go to hit level 46, Thelgrum had hit 44, and the remainder of his companions were level 43 and halfway to level 44. A good day overall, but from the message he had received from Darren, the scouts were back and the initial reports were in, time to start planning the campaign to end the Sisters of the Damned Jacob thought as he opened a Portal Scroll to take them home.
